The posters are way cool, I wish I had full size ones in my garage.

That flat head twin harley dirt tracker, Foot clutch, hand shifted 3 spd, no rear suspension, questionable front suspension, I'm guessin' 50HP? And no brakes!!! Soft helmet, and 20 more of those 500lb monsters chasing you with throttles wide open. BRASS NUTZ I SAY!!!!!

I've got a 196? Bridgestone Trail 90 in my shed that I bought for $25 5 or 6 years ago. I'll have to snap a picture of it. Not in bad shape except for the rear rim which has a bunch of broken spokes. It ran when I bought it but I haven't started since.

Looks like this one with a low mount exhaust:

Cool little Bridgestone, looks like that stamped steel frame that Honda and Yamaha used in the 60's, I've got a Honda Trail 90 that I think has that same frame.

Penton never made motors as far as I know, they used Sachs motors in the smaller bikes, and KTM in the bigger bikes, not sure why? Maybe Sachs didn't make any thing bigger than a 125, and KTM didn't make anything smaller than a 175?

I have a picture of old man Penton standing with one of his bikes, I'll try to dig it up.

Here is that stamped steel frame, they would change forks and fuel tanks, but the rear stayed the same as far as I can tell.

Hercules was very similar to Penton, used KTM motors.

In fact Penton might have been a Hurcules?

I dug up some more info and pics on that harley motocrosser, seems it was an Armachi 250, but was developed here with the help of Marty Tripes and Rex Staten
Tripes won the first Superbowl of motocross at the L.A. colosseum, Rocket Rex was a hot shoe motocross racer, known for kickin' ass where ever he raced.

He raced the Harley for one season in 1977, had one podium finish, wich was pretty good for a prototype bike, that was 25 pounds heavier than the rest of the field.

It seems that in 1978 Harley/AMF bailed out of motocross, but the 78' 250 was for sale untill they ran out, Don't know build numbers, but I'd bet not many were built and sold.

Here are some closeups, they show one of the only ones I've seen in person,
The build quality is very nice. I didn't take the photos, but I did spend 4 hours with the bike.

Holy crap, if you ever find or see one for sale let me know.

Until then, guess I'll have to settle for another one of HD's little Italian blue smokers:

reminds me of a Benelli

heres a rare Honda M50 APE not the same as an MB50 but similar I reckon

supposedly the 2 stroke MB50 would run 10000 RPMs all day long, roller crank, some guy rode one across US making my half the country on an FL seem like nothing

heres the MB50 2 smoker

My neighbor has an MB5, it is a quick little booger.
That APE50 looks like a supermotard bike.

This '83 KTM 495 was deemed the fastest motocross bike in the world, 119mph out at El Mirage dry lake bed. Good lookin' too.

I know you were diggin' on the posters, I'll bet you could print them out somehow, maybe E-mail them to a print shop, they could blow them up and clean them up enough to hang in the garage. Thats what I planned on doing.

Gotta love those monkey motion leading link style front suspension units. That thing reminds me of A Steen 100 that a friend had in the 70's, although his had a Yamaha motor, where this looks to have a Briggs motor?
