I'd do what they do on Ghost Hunters, and go through it all meticulously, on a big monitor, and see what they come up with. Not so much for evidence, but for trying to get a handle on what it is. I'm a skeptic, but I'm also open-minded enough to allow that it could indeed be paranormal, but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion unless EVERY natural possibility was exhausted, and even then I'd be like "Well, it could be paranormal, but..."

Oh he's done that. He's a marine too and has had extensive sight training especially with night vision - which is what most of it is recorded in. He's also been able to pick out voices and is really good at differentiating what's explainable and what's not.

Update:

Here's the details that we didn't know before. The first day the aunt came she realized that the problem was way more serious than she thought. She confirmed that there were three spirits. An evil man and woman and a baby. Apparently they did something horrible to the baby, but didn't specify exactly what. I assume murder.

The male spirit resides in a particular area of their apartment - the same place our friend's girlfriend was forbidden to go near. This is also the same area where their bunny's cage is. Explains why the bunny acts weird and stares so much.

The female spirit resides in the living room near their couch and will usually make her presence known to anyone who sits there. Lights flickering, feeling like something is poking you, weird mists, etc. All of us have encountered at least one or two of these things.

The baby doesn't seem to do much, but I think it explains the incident of their friends' baby staring off into space and laughing at seemingly nothing. Our friend also mentioned he's heard a baby cry a few times in the past.

Our friend's aunt contacted the spirit and found out why they were there. She said they were "brought there by a tall woman who works in one of the services, but not military". This woman was also described as having short hair and being rather talkative. This was immediately identified as their landlord who is a cop. From what I know, their landlord somehow made the spirits try to drive them out of the apartment because they lived there in the past. (I'm not entirely clear on the details of this) They tried looking up past residents of the apartment, but found nothing about a couple with a baby.

So basically the aunt blessed them both and made them do a few small rituals. They both have to wear a red cord around their waist and wear a piece of silver jewelry. I don't know exactly how the aunt is getting rid of the spirits, but it will be a slow process because if it's done too quickly, the spirits could turn violent. They're already pretty nasty as it is. So whatever is being done is basically going to slowly push them out. The whole process will take "7 moons" - (about 7 months. moon = moon phase).

More occurences:

Another thing that started happening recently is one of our friends will wake up in the middle of the night, leave the room, and rummage around looking for something or just make a lot of noise. Neither of them remember themselves doing it. It's also always around 2am to 4am. They will remember a very vivid dream that they get out of bed, but as soon as they leave the room it all goes blank. Sometimes they wake up with bruises. Neither has had a history of sleep walking. Our friend's aunt says this really does happen and it's the spirits trying to control them and use their energy.

The most recent thing happend two nights ago, but instead it happened with us. My boyfriend woke me up in the middle of the night looking terrified. I figured it was just a nightmare so I comforted him until he fell asleep. I remember he also was shaking and complained about feeling very cold. The room felt fine to me. The next morning he tells me about his dream. Apparently he vividly remembered a dark figure holding him down and making him feel very cold. He tried to call out, but couldn't. He then saw the figure reach over and touch me. He struggled, but couldn't do anything. Eventually his whimpers woke me up. (Which is strange because I sleep like a rock) After that, nothing has happened.

I don't know if it's just a dream, but it's strikingly similar to what's happened with our two friends. I know it's possible that his mind was just acting up since this haunting has been going on for a while, but we might see our friend's aunt just to be sure. I don't want the spirits to be drivin out of their house only to invdade ours.

Sounds eerily similar to Paranormal Activity. I'd set up a camcorder at night to capture all this. Is the aunt a psychic? Assuming she is, I'd call in another that has no knowledge of what's going on and see if their interpretations match up. I'm very interested in how this turns out. Any chance you could post pictures or video?

Hahaha that's what I was thinking. The aunt is a medium. That's her job in Trinidad apparently. I do have a psychic friend that has offered to go, but I haven't been in touch with her in a while. I'll ask them if they're still interested in having someone else check it out. Not sure if they want to post any pictures or videos. They just want it to be over. If they do decide, I'll let you guys know. I don't know if this is the case, but I know if this happened to me I'd be afraid of being thought of as crazy.

i lived in a house where shit like this was happening, it was a share house with about six people only when i moved in no on mentioned it. one night i was home alone and that was one of the longest nights of my life, saw stuff that still bothers me.

things progressively got worse and i moved out because of the stress, so did others. apparently someone was called in to 'fix' it, not sure of the solution only that they said it was getting to the point we were on the edge of being in physical danger and it was good we left.

i had seen a large male figure and so had others, he was a violent person/spirit/entity and was angry at us living there. there was also a child, so the child would do things like turn appliances on and off, flick light switches, make unplugged appliances turn on, close or open doors etc
the man would appear in doorways, walk up the stairs behind you so you heard footsteps but there was no one there...and worst of all you'd be walking through the house and suddenly feel like you were about to be attacked...hard to explain but it would be sudden and knock the air from my chest.

so much more happened, i used to keep a diary, think i even posted a thread about it on this board a year or so ago.

one of those things you can't relate to until it you experience it, and i appreciate hard to beleive for many as well. i know until then i would've been sceptical too.

i wish them luck.

For a while they said things were fine. We noticed that their apartment definitely felt "lighter". They seemed very relieved. When we went yesterday, they finally came out and told each other that things started happening again. They were afraid to tell each other for a few days because they hoped it was just their imagination. On Sunday the aunt is coming again to see what's up.

Yipes! That's some serious business.

And on another note, while I was reading Oryx's post last night (alone at home with no lights on after dark), the curtain rod suddenly fell off. I gave a jump, sat back down and when I got up again, caught a glimpse of my own reflection in the window.

I had to sign off after that and head out of the house for a while. Blagh!!!

Gone for a while. Be back when I'm back.
