I've had some pretty shit luck lately. But that mostly stems from me being able to explore only during the day...

I should add that I've never been arrested, never been charged, never even spoken to a police officer in my 2 years of exploring.

I've been stopped and / or caught by cops countless times, a couple officers here in Denton know me by name just from pulling me out of abandoned buildings. BUT, I've NEVER gotten a citation, and I've never had an unpleasant experience with Denton PD, they're friendly, down to earth guys. Don't be a dick and they won't be a dick. But that's just Denton. Every town is different.

Knock on wood, but I have never been able to not talk my way out of a situation. Even with copper pipes in my hand and the building burning behind me.

I had to trespass at an active power plant to earn my first bust. Talked my way out of arrest that night and charges were dropped months later in court.

I've gotten harassed in shitty parts of Philly and Chicago=, each time as a passenger in a car of white kids in a bad neighborhood.

I've been handcuffed, rid in the back of a cop car, given and signed sworn testimony, all on separate occasions. Haven't been booked yet.

I didn't get caught until I'd been doing it a few years.

True, true. Same here.
Knocking on said wood, paperwork is the last thing a cop wants to do. ...besides tackling a naked dude maybe.

hah, well i think the guy wrote me a citation cause he was pissed he had to get out of his cruiser in the torrential downpour, he was soaked. Heres the kicker, it wasn't even a building, it was an abandoned bridge, just my luck the one cruiser in that entire area happened to be driving by at night in a huge thunderstorm >.<

I don't think it really matters whether you're a "rookie" or a "pro", sometimes timing is just bad. I know if I would have left one abandonment 2 minutes later, i would have been fine. 30 seconds earlier, and the cop would have seen me inside the fence on the property, and i probably would have gotten a ticket at the very least. : ]

One thing that helps me, I got a spotless record. Cops run my info and usually just tell me not to be there or, even better, becareful, that place looks unstable. Here in the south I worry more about the owner than the police. I usually target places with out of town or corporation owners. Plus being 31 and handin the cop a CDL licence doesn't hurt.
