cr, i bow before you and your collection.

Thanks, none of them are show bikes thats for sure. But I can take 'em out and fall down and not be heart sick (well not too heart sick)

The hardest thing is keeping my body between the fuel tanks and what's tryin' to damage the fuel tanks........

Sweet Buell.............Those front brakes are too cool, what is there thought for doing that? Maybe they stay cooler and have less fade?

Me too. When the biker in me grows up, it wants a Buell. In the mean time, it has to contend with this...

So I'm takin' a motorbike ride yesterday on my li'l Speed Triple. We did 150 miles of twisty two laner along Mulholland hwy, Yerba Buena, and Pacific Coast hwy. 1/2 the trip was 28 degrees.

On the return trip, I snake thru traffic, and end up sittin in front of a bunch of unhappy BMW's, Mercedes, Lexus, and such. On the other side of this M3 sits a full dressed Big Twin. I have a habit of going to neutral at stop lights, this can sometimes be weird as the light changes as you're just coming to a stop, right as you're putting your foot down.

Well the light changed, this dresser took of like a bat outta hell. So I clunk into gear and give chase, I've never had a harley give me such a run, we boosted up to around 90 or so before we had to stop for the next light.

I go to neutral as we pull up, I notice he's in neutral also. I flip up the front of my helmet and say " damn that thing hauls for a big twin" He looks at me, and either didn't hear me? Or is an arrogant fucker? As I close my lid I hear him clunk into first.

I'm gonna stay in neutral so he thinks I'm not ready when the light changes, Then I'm gonna show this fucker what a real roadking looks like from the rear.

Forgetting I'd went up a tooth on the countershaft, bringing the Triumph's launch back to stock. My normal Clunk and kill'em technique, became the clunk and vomit at the line technique........

I tried to hunt him back down, I could never get on the same light sequence as him.

I SUCK!!!!! I'd still like to know what was done to that bike, God it was fast.

1.

Don't start blaming the sprocket. Arthritic hands don't feather out a clutch or twist & dump gas like they used too . Glad to see you still try

Of course he may have had a 140 S&S stuffed in his glyde.

The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?

there are many small things that can really wake up a hog.
iirc. changing from 22tooth to 21 tooth inner primary drive sprocket, as well as trans output sprocket. (yup them harleys have a total of 4 sprockets...)
the usual mech upgrades go from mild (sceamin eagle) to holy crap! carbs, cams, headwork pistons, stroker flywheels and ign systems... to complete drop in mills.

power comes from the heads, if the heads dont flow, they aint making much power.

He seemed to have explosive power off the line, it really surprised me. It's not like a 700lb bike normally launches like that.

It was dressed like a stock long distance freeway tourer, but what a sleeper!!

I suspect he'd run out of steam due to gearing, but from stoplight to stop light he was a monster.

My bike is 430lb @108hp, If I hadn't pulled the squid move, I'd have showed that fuck, That stretch of PCH was mine!!!!!!!!

Squid.

while in tampa st. pete area for 4 years, my shop made "the 100/100 kit" aka the perfect street setup. 100ft lbs/100hp. also did some very radical stuff, 208hp roadking (winner of the teresi dyno drags in 08), and a few salt flats motors for sportster.org. it was fun, but the economy went to shit and the hi-end toys went away...

Man there are some sweet bikes among the explorers.

Well I gotta say my big KilLeR is rather humbled in the looks dept. by a lot of these but damn is she ever a good time. Get me anywhere I please, quite a few places I shouldn't. If there ever was an exploring bike, this is it. A DR would be nice for the weight though...

Not looking as pretty these days, learning how to wrestle this thing through the bush has taken it's toll but I like to think of it as a "trail hardened" look.
