Accident

The other day I was hit by a car on my bike, the driver of the car pulled out of a driveway and across three lanes of traffic and hit me in the side at a 45 degree angle from the rear. I was going 40mph. luckily I was able to recover and didn't dump the bike over. We both pulled to the shoulder. The driver got out and asked if I was ok, I told him to call the police and an ambulance because I thought my leg was broken. He did and waited in his car until the police arrived. The police took our statements individually and I was taken to the hospital without ever getting any information from the other driver. Today I got the police report and there is no insurance policy listed for the other driver. I called the other driver and he said he didn't know his policy number but he would get it for me in a few days. He also seemed to still think that somehow the accident was my fault even though the report clearly states that it wasn't.

I don't feel like waiting for the loser to call me back.

I know his address and license number, which is from Texas even though the accident took place in New Mexico

I know his vin number

I know his cell phone number which has a NM area code, and his answering message says he works for Security USA out of either Albuquerque or Santa Fe.

He claims to be insured under Wells Fargo

The police wont return my calls. I've called Wells Fargo but they couldn't help me, neither could my insurance company. Tomorrow I'm going to try to call the Texas DPS and see if I can get his insurance info from them. I may also go down to his employer this week.

So my question is what do I do now? what would you do? It seems to me I may just be totally fucked, and I don't like it.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.
