Hi, my name is François, I live in Montréal, I recently discovered urban exploration, I only visited one place two times, but I want to learn more before I go to another location, so I won't get caught or hurt, and maybe find people to explore with. Oh and I am 19 years old

Hello! My name is Alyssa and I live in Connecticut. I have had this account on UER for 5 years and I have never posted. I created this account when I was first getting into exploring and I didn't posted because I knew my photos were pretty horrible. Thankfully I saved myself some embarrassment. They're not perfect now but I think I've improved a little.

I explore mostly with my father, which is a little different from other people. But it's something we bond over. I don't know too many other 20 year olds who still hang out with their father willingly.

I am always looking for other explorers in the area too!

Hey everyone!
I'm from Ontario, Canada and have loved exploring everywhere I've ever gone. I often randomly wander away from my friends to go down a hallway, or into an empty room, just because I can, and to see what's cool there (I'm sure they all think I'm nuts).
I'm slightly hesitant about meeting up with other Urban Explorers as of right now, but hopefully I'll gain the courage to do some serious trespassing with you soon!
I quite adore the pictures here - simply FANTASTIC! I hope to contribute some of my own one day

Best of luck exploring everyone!

Heyo!

Name's Anthony and I recently found and became obsessed with urban exploration. I'm in the Ontario, California area (I always have to add "California" because people think I'm from Canada) and was just looking through the database for my area.

Gotta say I'm kinda bummed that the only thing near me are sewage tunnels and drains, but I still don't want to throw it before I try it. "Always try everything once" I was always told this so I'm gonna give it a shot.

So I guess I can ask here, since this is the newbie thread, what is essential for exploration? What do you want to make sure you always have on you? What about security? What happens if you get caught? Do you book it? All of you U.E. pros are kickass and I am amazed and impressed by what you guys can find and what you go through.

Hope to become as seasoned as an explorer as you all one day! Thanks for reading!

Uh.. first time posting on the forums, I don't know if I will get notified of a response... so if I don't respond or something quick enough, sorry! THanks again!

Dude, half the stuff I visit aren't on the site or are hidden from newer members. So, I can promise you that sewage tunnels and drains aren't the only thing near you. Get in your car...drive around...don't crash...and go 'esplorin'! ;)

Haha the more I read through the forums the more I learn. Gonna set me up with one of those Tumblr things and gonna subscribe to the UrbanExploration subreddit on Reddit.

This shouldn't be my only resource for Urban Exploration, it should be the guideline and story sharing time I have from my explorations. Gonna find someone who is in my area who I can mentor and learn the ropes from. Its gonna be so bad ass!

Hi everyone I'm PressingLeap from the Mid-Atlantic region. I am new to the online community, but I have been into UE with my sister since my early teenage years. I have enjoyed the experience of exploring, but now I am making an extra effort to document my outings and talk to others.

I am not a huge Internet person, but I am looking forward to trying my best to contribute to this forum and am excited to share stories/hear the stories of others. Happy exploring!

why would you mentor someone you're learning the ropes from?

The ropes aren't hard to learn. The nice young lady just explained them to you.

Pretty simple. You need someone to hold your hand or what?

Hello everyone! My name is Laura and I am from Columbia, South Carolina. Though I am about to move closer to the Georgetown/Myrtle Beach area. I have always loved exploring but until recently, I sadly did not know that the term 'Urban Exploration' even existed, let alone that there are communities of people online that share their discoveries. (I guess that's what you get when you live in an internet free zone for too long...haha!) I am switching jobs with the relocation, and hope to have a lot more chances to find/explore new places. I look forward to getting to know everyone more!

Be careful with sewage. That shit can be deadly if you don't have the right equipment.

Hey everyone, Im from Calgary, Alberta. I'm new to the online community of UE, but definitely not new to the idea. I love the possibilities that are everywhere. Most people don't give a lot of things a second glance, but there's so much out there to explore and find.

As I've always explored on my own, I've limited myself on what I do. So I figured I'd come online and see what others have found and connect with other explorers.

Greetings all,

I've been exploring since '09, mainly in the SW Ohio region, but also Michigan, W. Virginia and Pennsylvania. My Bing map is dotted with "Explored" and "Unexplored" pins and I plan to move a few of the latter to the former category by Fall. I'm hoping to get more potential subjects and info from UER, hence my Premium and hopefully at some point, Full Membership status. My primary motivation is from a photographic angle, as I have an aesthetic and historical appreciation of primarily industrial architecture and machinery. However, any abandoned facility is enjoyable, as long as I have my camera. I shoot with a 5D MIII, tripod and remote.
