Hey there!

My name is RealLiveHobbit, and I'm a twenty-something living in the PNW (in Western Washington.) I'm not going to pretend I'm a fabulously experienced urban explorer, since most of the areas I've explored are just abandoned spots in State Parks and whatnot. But I do hope to get better at exploring.

My interest in Urban Exploring started when I was a kid, WAY before I had a name for it. I was going to a tiny school in rural Alaska; it was so small, we didn't even have a proper library or anything. We just had a big room in the school's attic full of newish books that the village council had ordered in an attempt to increase kids' interest in reading. There wasn't a check-out system, and no one except my siblings and I were ever up there. My brother and I found an entrance to a secondary attic, and we found a whole bunch of really old books that the first white people had brought in to the village. They had been stashed away when the new ones came in, and I don't think anyone had even been in there in years. I just remember standing there, looking up into the decaying shelves and breathing in this musky, stagnant smell and being completely awed by the years the room had seen.

I've always remembered that, even though I couldn't have been more than eight or nine years old at the time. I CRAVE that feeling of awe. I hope that I can learn from everyone on here, and find some neat places to explore. Thanks for having me!

Wow, I've found a group of other kindred spirits, I never thought this day would come! Seriously!

I've been interested in abandoned structures ever since I was a kid. I'm an only child and growing up my parents had an RV and we went camping once a month all over the Pacific States. I'd have to occupy myself so I was always exploring and somehow i always came across something abandoned. Whether it be a stone fireplace in the middle of a forest or the remnants of an old fort I found it and fearlessly explored it!

I've gotten more gutsy as I get older, you'd think I'd play it safer, lol. I'd love to share with you photos from abandoned mine hikes, abandoned state hospitals, the remains of resorts, motels, houses, zoos, you name it. I also can't wait to meet friends, see your photos and collaborate on the next big adventure!

I've put this off for 8 years....

I don't really UE much anymore being 48, married, and right now my wife's caretaker. (She just finished 9 months in the hospital/phys rehab center) But I do enjoy the pix. I'm in SW Ohio.

I'm Natalie! I'm not a new member at all, actually... But I just started using this resource more. I had stopped using it for a while.
See, I recently (2 years ago) moved to Denton for school and finally made friends with a willing participant, so now all I wanna do is urbex lately! I used to do it a lot back in late middle school/high school. I usually just pick needles out of haystacks on Google Maps, though, which has actually worked for the most part. anyway, I reaaaaaally want to become a full member soon so i can go to new places around town, because there's this one place called Cauble (sp?) Ranch outside of Denton and I KNOW someone has to have posted it on here. I wanna see photos. (and get some advice on getting in).

Anywho, yeah. thats me. if you go to the DFW meets, you'll meet me eventually.

Woo! My 3 day wait for my first post is over! You can call me Jac; I live in a small town south of Ann Arbor, MI. I am an architecture student at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI and I've been interested in buildings since before kindergarten. Abandoned buildings, on the other, piqued my interest a few years ago but it wasn't until this past year when I moved to college that I really got into urbexing. I tend to explore with 2 close friends from school but I am looking forward to meeting other explorers in the area and collaborating with everyone!

There's the crazy one, the photographer, and me, the driver, a mix of both. And we're a pretty kickass team if I do say so myself.

While I'm not exactly new I am more or less a master of going unnoticed

Let's see. I've been around and active for three years in an area with a diameter from Streetsville to Omagh. It really is more or less of the same, I have covered approximately twenty different buildings. I would like to expand now though, having more or less exhausted mt explores. If interested you can see much of what I covered here.

https://m.flickr.c...tos/129515910@N07/

I started with a point and shoot
Went to a phone
Slipped off to a Soviet made Zenit TTL from '82 with helios 44-2 prime.
Finally I got my DSLR. only thing I' missing is a wide angle lens.

Sadly the largest place I was in. Oakpark vet is gone now. I honestly want to see large, industrial buildings of sorts, those have been somewhat of a craving. I have ran through enough if these small buildings and would like to find something bigger and more exciting. so that said, anyone in my area? I'm from Mississauga Ontario. It's boring and everything is new ;3;

Every building and site has a story, and they are often of mistakes. Learn from them before they are gone forever.

Well here's yet another newbie into this clan of UE..

I'm currently dwelling in Northern California, in Sonoma county. Have held interest in UE since I was very young , exploring both urban and rural /country locals. I'm of Native American decent, enjoy hiking, exploring , reading, have interests in the 'supernatural', 'paranormal' (real and fake) and cultural folk beliefs/traditions. I'm also a little odd.

So... hello!

Some good 'ol utility tunnels. They belong to a school or city?
Either way, I think you will enjoy exploring Cinci, lots of old stuff there.

The first one belongs to one of the high schools, and the second is to an insane asylum.

I'm loving cincinnati so far. Its nice to have new scenery, but still love Kansas city. Hows California for exploring?

Hey folks. I'm from southern California. (California City, if anyone even knows where that is.) My interest in UE started with the good old lakeshore hotel in town. Since then, I've started Uni in Monterrey bay and spent my weekends there exploring the military base and taking photos with my shitty phone camera. I've been doing research lately and started to compile a list of sites to visit this summer. Unfortunately I don't have anyone to go with, and I don't feel comfortable going alone, so if anyone has visits planned or would like to keep me company, let me know.

Hello! I'm Bird, from Central Massachusetts, and I've been exploring Worcester county ever since I was a young teen. I started with some abandoned construction sites in my small town, but once I went off to school I started exploring factories and abandoned houses and I've been hooked ever since.

I've just kind of done my own thing for awhile so I'm definitely new to not just this forum but any kind of UE community. I would love to go exploring with someone in Central MA sometime though!

hello everyone

long time listener, first time caller.

i'm in the greater seattle area, and quite the rookie in regards to you all. my love of urban exploration came to me through photography. i've not visited many places, other than a few homes and salton sea (my muse!), due to fearing for my safety and such.

i've just moved back to this area, and am looking to connect with other explorers and photographers and meet new friends, because all mine think i'm absolutely crazy for this.

I think a lot of us get on UER for this reason. But we aren't crazy, we just like to anticipate the apocalypse.

Yup. Someday, everyone will be all like "the roads are blocked, how do we get out of the city," and we'll just be sitting there going "the drains are still open, so lets go!"

Also, need a place to hide from bandits? We've gotcha covered.

...This really needs to be a novel or something.

Yo people,

I'm a high schooler who lives in San Rafael, and i have recently taken urban exploring as a serious hobby with a friend of mine. His name on this site is johnsmith?, and we used to walk around in abandoned hospitals until we discovered the art of rope work. We now persue large structures than can be climbed or repelled of of.

I am very eager to start posting on this site and sharing our elevated adventures with you all.
