I've known about UER for years, but just haven't had the interest in joining. So far I'm pleased what this forum and DB has to offer.Quite an impressive community really.

Yep, what we have here is indeed pretty spiffy! Welcome to UER!

Mine is probably one of the more innocent of any you'll find. There's a half-finished office complex near where I live (exploration in planning stage, it's tricky) that I was wondering about for a while - it was under construction when I left Colorado, it was still under construction when I came back two years ago, and it's still under construction now. I wanted to know what the deal was, so to Google I went:

"Abandoned office building construction + [address]."

Several dozen news articles and one very, very long wikiwalk later, I ended up finding a link to the (relatively few) UER database entries for Colorado. And here I am now.

If I put something witty here, maybe someone will love me.

I had just planned on going into my first exploration but I wanted as much information as possible. So I searched Urban Exploration into google and here I am.

Okay, long story short, I was bored in the local library with my laptop and began researching Camp 30 photos (looking for a picture of the Olympic sized pool.) This led me to Freaktography's website, this led me to jermalism's, which had me researching when I found photo's of my old house (we had rented it for a number of years during my teen years), and throughout I kept coming back to UER. Finally I took it as a sign to join, and here I am.

Used to love watching the ghost hunter shows but then realized i wasn't interested in ghost, i was just fascinated watching them explore abandoned buildings and such. haven't watched anything like that in a while and then stumbled upon some youtube videos of UE by the youtube "Exploringwithjosh" and was HOOKED. Quick google search and then i had to join! Glad i found it.

Either a result from a google search filtering for abandoned areas or a link from reddit.com/r/urbanexploration

The beings from Seti Alpha 5 sent me a message directing me here. They wont shut up so I have to wear a hat made of aluminum foil to prevent their messages from entering my brain.

Well I have always loved photography and loved abandoned places. So I decided one day to join the two and that's what brought me here. I am still fairly new to exploring have been doing it about 6 months now but just realized how big of an online community there is. So far I am loving everyone's pictures and getting to meet people that are like minded is awesome. I went to my first event last week and that will for sure not be my last. I look forward to meeting more people and finding new places.

I found out about this site like 5 years ago when I was doing a lot of research in finding GNAL in Dawsonville, because I was told by a friends girlfriend about it. Never got to go, still want to, if its even there.

I was researching urban exploration in Toronto, and UER was one of the first sites I found.
