Hello, all! I have been visiting this website for years, but I am a rookie. I am a 61-year grandmother of 4 who adores heavy metal and urban exploring. I always thought I was weird because I would hyperventilate whenever I saw abandoned railroad tracks, buildings, drains, homes, etc., and couldn't rest until I started poking around. I am still proud of the fact that I was able to get into our local amphitheater a week after it closed - that was fantastic and I spent the WHOLE DAY there. I am hoping my grandchildren have inherited my love of trespassing - I take them on some of the milder sites (abandoned roads in a state park, for instance). Anyway, if I seem computer stupid it's because I am, but Blackhawk was kind enough to give me a gentle push in the right direction. My urban exploration is somewhat limited now since I have been diagnosed with cancer, so I am really having a GREAT time looking at all the photos on this site. I am not a lurker - just someone who loves urban exploration (thanks to Ninjalicious I discovered UE websites existed) so if I am irritating anyone please, please let me know - thanks all, and keep up the great photography! I believe nel58 might be close to my age, so here's a shout out to her.

You are truly a hero! Awesome story.

Hey everyone!

I am from the north end of Mississauga, ON, and live in Rexdale during the school year. I've always had an interest in abandoned things, but never knew much about it. Back when I was into trains as a hobby, I'd waste time trying to find the ripped up rail lines cutting across the country. I finally started reading into it more and came across UER. My main passion is draining at this point, but industrial abandonments are an easy second.

I've done 3 drains in the area so far, first one was in my neighbourhood and dull as all hell (although I never reached an end; I gave up after a while of straight RCP - which appears to be the classic Mississauga style). I did two others yesterday and they were much cooler.

My name comes from one of many ghost towns that dot the route of the Algoma Central Railway, which I got to know very well this past summer. Looking forward to doing more exploring and speaking with more people in the area. Thanks to everyone who's helped me out so far.

My name is Erin I've been on here for quite sometime but still new to the site and I really want to post about La Follette, Tn. Maybe find some more abandoned places I haven't found yet ♥ Let me know what you think of my pics. First one is a creepy dead tree next to a bar I started to get pictures of. The next two are an old railroad, next to a trail from the civil war era, that leads up to the Ivydell Mountain near La Follette.

I'm new(ish) to the site. It's a pleasure!

I've been exploring on & off for about five years now. It's never been disappointing. I've explored a bit here & there on my own, but it's definitely more fun with more people.

I'll post some pics soon. Please give me an honest critique if you happen to see one that catches your eye!

Hello! I'm new to the site and new to exploring!

As a teenager, I liked wandering about abandoned buildings at night for a scare with my friends (caught once, let go with a warning). During a rare daytime visit (with my MOM!) to one of the best sites, we happened to run into someone armed with a camera who introduced us to urban exploring. With going off to college, then trying to balance two jobs with a long commute, and you, know, life, I didn't do any of that for a long time, although it was in the back of my mind. Fast forward to now, and I'm really interested in exploring again (but not at night for a scare).

I haven't done much yet, and I just moved to a new area where I don't know anyone who wants to tag along (and I'm too chicken-livered to go alone...hence the name "Long Tailed Cat"), but fortunately on my trips home I have tolerant friends/family to drag along. I am joining the forums to get some good tips (already have over my last three days of lurking!), enjoy others' photos of their excursions, and hopefully, eventually, find a partner in my area (central KY).

Hey guys, new to this forum but not new to exploring.

Honestly joined because I need more locations than the few I frequent. My brother is a full member here someplace, so I'll get him to vouch for me when he gets back from vaca.

but about me. I'm a photographer in Olathe KS and like to photograph abandoned places, landscapes, portrates, events, macro, light painting, cars, just about everything. I started doing photography because of my passion in/for cars, but as my skills have increased, I've found to use my photography skills for a wide variety of things. If you'd like to check out some photos I've taken, check out my facebook page photos and give it a like: search "Flawless Photography" or try the link here: https://www.facebo...819/?ref=bookmarks

Anyhow, I really love checking out abandoned places for photographic uses and possibly for future projects (for example, I took my sister-in-law to a moderately safe warehouse for senior photos).

But you'll see me plunking around. I'll post up a few photos and such here and there too. Might be a bit since it's limited to 100k uploads. my photos tend to be in the 20,000k -__-

See you guys around.

(ps, this forum is a tad wack. so might take me some time to figure out how everything works. feel free to correct me should I post in the wrong places)

Hey guys, I'm Joey! I like Star Wars and long walks on the beach. I have been trotting around my town for a while and have explored a ton of cool places, so I joined to find more! I would be excited to meet new people in my area that share the same interests with exploring as I do.

Once I download my pictures I'll start sharing my adventures.

Hey y'all. I'm Nick, originally from NYC but recently relocated to Jersey's burbs (ah, so rural in comparison...). Relatively new to the UE scene, but I'm a photographer looking forward to shooting some of my adventures. I'm also an experienced climber, so hoping to get some ropework in as well.

Glad to be part of what looks to be a badass community. Can't wait to show you guys/gals some of my shots. Thanks --

Hello all! My name is Alex. I live in the Markham region of Toronto. I'm quite new to the urban exploration scene, with only one real explore under my belt. It's really great to see that there is such a vibrant and positive community around this hobby. I can't wait to read about some of your adventures and share some of my own!

Hey, I'm just a 15 year old from the middle of nowhere who was intrigued by this. I've only gone on one exploration before if you can even call it that but I plan to go to an old saw mill (?) Near my dad's mechanic shop and take some pictures, I'll also include areas of the shop that no one ever goes in. I plan on going to some abandoned places once I get my liscence. Wish me luck!

I've come to realize that I have never introduced myself on here!
I have been exploring sense the age of 15 mostly in the Wisconsin area.
I spent a year down in Florida because warmth is NICE.

I just got done attending my first event and first Mouser week.
It was a really great time, and I was able to meet quite a few great people.

Mad respect to those who housed me the two weekends I was around.

Welcome to UER.
You never know what you'll find when you walk old RR lines. Maybe just ancient foundations but it was the super highway of its time. Be careful not to trip and fall on a rail. Be wary of holes, wear a good pair of lace up high top boots. A good walking stick helps.

Careful with your age on the internet. Not even sure if ToS allows minors. Either way, have fun and good luck on your test. A license and car will make exploring much easier if you live in the middle of nowhere.

Hello Everyone! I always have loved exploring, especially drains. I am so glad I have found this website! Even though I am fairly young (in high school) I have already visited some drains and have mapped out many more in California to explore hopefully soon.

Hello all old/new members. Learned about the forums months ago but felt like I had nothing to contribute.

I've been hitting sites with buddies for years and didn't really know what to call it. Lately been falling in love with the drains and caves of Minneap/st.paul. Decided to sign up for an account to get a littler closer with the community of like minded people.

Cheers, happy exploring and maybe I'll run into a few of you on my adventures. Thanks.
