Over the weekend I took my lads, one lad's GF and my dogs to Lake Hope SP in southeast Ohio. We got a cabin for the weekend (a little cold to camp) and did some hiking and rock climbing:

This is a pond that was created when the railroad first went through in the 1800s:

The same pond, after we had circled around and got on the abandoned RR bed:

Raccoon Creek loops around, so if you follow the RR bed, you have to cross it twice to get to the tunnel from where we were. Both crossings had high water, and in the cold weather we didn't want to risk it, so we went along the creek from one crossing to another. It actually was pretty tough at times:

The RR bed leads to the Moonville Tunnel (in the database):

People don't give Ohio enough credit for being beautiful. When I was working in the River Valley last year I was shocked at how awesome it was.

Went to Hocking Hills again this past weekend with my scout troop. Did a hike from Old Man's Cave, past Cedar Falls to Ash Cave. If you're ever in the area, it's a great hike.

Trump rock! Seriously, I didn't notice until I was looking at my pics on my PC:

I didn't catch the name of this waterfall:

More rooty goodness:

Did a little rock climbing on Sunday. This is my son:

This is the face he wanted to climb, but we ran out of time:

Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'd add to this one, since we went to the same area. This time we hiked Conkle's Hollow, which is pretty cool:

After hiking, we went to an area people call Tar Hollow, but it's actually east of there. It's criss-crossed with old roads that are no longer maintained and have turned into off-road trails:

We camped on a hilltop that had been clear cut a few years ago:

My first attempts at the "Glowing tent at night" shot:

It was about 10 PM. The sun set around 8, but as you can see the sky was still glowing:

Tried to get the Milky Way. It was barely visible to the eye.
