http://www.guelphm...dings-near-guelph/ The number of abandoned/derelict residences that have succumbed to unexpected fires since June of 2016 has hit double digits today after another century old home was ignited around 3AM, along with a garage a few km away.
I really hope they find the people responsible for these heinous crimes, but something tells me that Guelph/Rockwood regional police think their time is better spent elsewhere.
These are more than just "abandoned buildings", they are someone's property. They have lots of salvageable materials, invaluable memories and design features... There is no bringing back the historic value lost here, and in the other cases of arson. Needless to say I am heartbroken over this recent loss.

Things like this remind me why what we do, while "illegal" is so important. We preserve the memory of these gorgeous buildings in photographs and other artworks, even after the locations are demolished.
