When I was a kid, my dad and I spent a lot of time out on the water fishing. So many great memories made. Now that I have kids of my own and having access to shore fishing at the cottage, I have really gotten hooked again (pun intended).
I've been ice fishing a couple times this year and have started thinking about trying fly fishing in the spring.

Wondering if anyone here fishes, if so, what do you fish for...what do you use, etc?

Current set up is a 6'6" Shakespeare Ugly Stik E-Lite with an Okuma Trios reel.
Usually hitting Pike and Walleye up at the cottage and the occasional Rainbow and Laker but this Spring thinking of targeting some Brookies!

I used to fish, but I was terrible at it so I gave up. My younger son expressed interest in fishing, and since he is a video game and You Tube addict, I may take it up again just to get him to do something else.

My in-laws are big Lake Erie anglers. As in, no other bodies of water exist (though they have gone to Lake Nipissing a few time). I get seasick, so I prefer inland lakes. When I fished, I just aimed for catching something. If I had a preference, probably bass. I have a Lake Erie biotope aquarium, though.

With the Trout opener up here I had to get out but a new job made me wait until today. I headed up to a spot I had thought of and it worked out perfectly. Everyone else fishes downstream and along the other fork of the river. This section is a nice hike, the river is a series of swifts, small falls, and pools that hold some great fish!

I ran in to one other guy, he had caught a 26" fish and was working his way downstream. I caught a couple nice fish out of a hole before heading back to the car. Along the way back, I stopped at a couple spots that looked promising and landed another nice Brown and a Brookie.
