Like the fox wandering through the snow at the start of Sam Raimi's "A Simple Plan",
let the coyote below be the harbinger of decay as you scavenge your way through a short,
winter 2017 tour of some abandoned locations inside the downtown core of Niagara Falls...

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.

I love how you've woven the coyote into the set.

Thanks, it was fun. The coyote was on an epic cross-city trek with me following for about 2 km. The officer in the last photo pulled up beside me later and said that if it wasn't for my camera, he was planning to run it down with his car!

Oh, come on! As long as you don't piss off a coyote, you're fine.

Niagra Falls have always been considered a shit hole. Has that description become more accurate as of late, or is it any more livable?

One day I got a good camera.

The house in image 09 was owned by a well-known photographer (I do not recall who), apparently. Empire Block is a pretty cool building, with several reno-attempts on the inside. Keefer used to own many of the properties in that area; redeveloped some, left some others. The owner of the big burned-out (floorless) building right by the abandoned Michigan Central Rail bridge you were near (image 02) still wants to turn it into a chocolate...ium. Apparently.

Totally agree. It is funny how people get. Even this police officer said to me that he really should have destroyed it, as it clearly must have mange!

Interesting. It was owned by restauranteur Pat Simon for several decades before his death a few years ago. I wonder if he rented it out in his later years to the photographer that you mention. I did a fairly massive thread on that house in 2014 if interested in a more in-depth look:

Poor Coyote.

He escaped unharmed... I followed him for a few more kilometers until finally he escaped the city. This was the finally photo I took before it safely disappeared into the forest beside Marineland....

Nice work man! And looking at that Coyote, it does not have mange, he was just being overzealous.

I agree! There is nothing wrong with that coyote. That cop was obviously bored and wanted to take it out just so he could use his gun.
Enjoyed your photos as always GS. My fave is the B&W with the color added back on the doll. NICE!

The police station is a real shame, positivepressure told me years ago he got in and it was totally gutted with no floors.
