Noticing the destroyed roof of this small town Ontario home, I circled back to copy down the address for a possible future visit. Instead I discovered the door of the home was gaping wide open in the summer heat, leading into a kitchen coated in a thick layer of grease grime.
Wandering around, I photographed the home of what appeared to be a very God-fearing elderly couple, religious trinkets adorning every room. Making it quite serendipitous was the sound of a choir group practicing in a nearby church, the windows propped open in the summer heat.
I was baffled when I checked this place out on Streetview later and found it in pristine condition just last year. Even the roof was perfect. A local told me that the house was occupied until 2016 and that the local fire department was given permission by the property owner to practice aerial maneuvers on the roof.

While taking an exterior shot of the roof holes, I wondered why one of the holes appeared to be plugged with a pillow. .....

.... It took a little poking around to find the spot on the inside. This weird house was far too decrepit for the location and lack of graffiti. That and the pillow plug made me wonder if someone was sleeping here recently.
