This is a relatively new location that sat on my list for quite a while. I noticed that holes had begun to appear in the roof of the farmhouse on this property a few years back, but the stables were still active. Since that time, even those have emptied out. I had originally planned an early morning bike approach to get here, but the property was so overgrown that I hid my vehicle on site -- which is very rare for me. Lots of nesting tree swallows greeted me upon arriving, which helped build confidence that the property wasn't frequently visited by anyone.

The riding school is still in business but has shifted to a new location just down the road. That proximity worried me a bit, but my gut feeling was that I'd be ok. The highlight here, for me, was the black-mold-covered game room. A gaping roof hole directly overhead dropped water and sludgy ceiling debris onto the most decrepit billiard table I have seen outside of Talisman Ski Resort.

Nice set! Great attention to details.. the frosted glass, horseshoes, ribbons. Thanks for sharing. Oh, how do you get a bird to pose like that?

Beautiful photos, absolutely beautiful. You make these abandoned houses come alive for me.

Also yes, bird shot is so super awesome.

I really like 6 and 7 being one after the other. 6 is just a beautiful shot, but when scrolling through it just felt right to be followed by the ribbons shot. I don't even know why - maybe its the gold-ish colours in both?

maybe im just thinking too much about it.

#12 is def my favourite. Good subjects, cool decay, nice colours. That dirty-ass reflection brings back fond memories of the shared bathroom in college rez.

I hate seeing such gorgeous barns and farmland abandoned... Farming used to be the backbone of ON.

There were a whole bunch of flying ants doing their ritual flights right in front of it (that's whats packed into the bird's beak) and I was coming up front behind. It was keeping an eye on me and probably wanting to fly away, but didn't want to lose its spot to another bird with that smorgasbord going on in front of it!
