Hi all. I'm new to the community but have been exploring rural and urban locations for over ten years on and off. I'm from central Wisconsin and know the area relatively well, and am slowly broadening my horizons to the Fox Valley and MKE areas.

I'm interested in architecture but more so in the history/social aspect of places. I'll be sure to post about recent ventures soon.

Hey y’all I’m a somewhat experienced explorer living in the twin cities. I’ve been in numerous caves in Saint Paul and other miscellaneous tunnels in Minneapolis. I will always choose underground over a bando. I’ve been to some pretty interesting spots and I’m just looking to link up and trade spots with fellow people in the area.

Hey I’m OpenHouse, I study 2d animation in the GTA. I’m falling in love with storytelling and understanding the way people communicate visually.

Abandoned places are mysterious, exclusive, and dangerous -- which (I think) makes them objectively cool to look at and enjoy. On a shallow level, I enjoy this stuff because it’s fantastical. I hope I can explore some cool places. Trespassing seems like a good way to push oneself out of their comfort zone. I’m working on my rule breaking skills. Tieing photography into the mix feels very natural to me as an artist.

Getting a little deeper, ideas of property, ownership, and tangibility concern and interest me. I think how people react to things which have been abandoned offers an interesting perspective on our societal values. It’s fucking wild to think about. And I’m too illiterate to phrase that better; sorry if the language is offensive.

hey all, i'm a relatively long time explorer from the Minneapolis area with a fresh new first account.  i only know a handful of people around here that explore, although i did go to a mouser a few years back.  i definitely lean towards underground spots and have a real affinity for acoustically unique or really reverberant places.  cheers!

Oh, so that's what you mean by "I'm a drawer". I thought it was some weird metaphor and you meant like a cabinet drawer, the kind that pulls out, you know.... Nevermind. Lol. Cool.

Yeah, I dig your interpretation though! Very abstract.

Hey all, longtime photographer here, new explorer (based out of the Great Lakes region according to this forum). TBH it's something I've always wanted to get into but never took the plunge until this past summer when I met someone pretty incredible who showed me the ropes.

Long story short, we had a falling out, but now I'm completely obsessed with exploring and have been doing it since, which is why I'm here.

I shoot with an infrared-modified DSLR (not like Predator-style infrared, it basically just changes the way plant life looks) so you can look forward to seeing some of that. Happy to answer any questions about my setup!

Hi all! I don't really know how top use this website yet, and this could be my second time posting this, but I'm an urbexer from Minneapolis who is relatively new to the field. I love dangerous animals, and venomous snakes in particular. I'm in college right now, and am studying for a career in herpetology. I've had a lot of fun so far, and am looking to step it up and take exploration more seriously. Anybody in the area who's down to explore, message me!

Hey, I'm Joey and I'm new to Hoboken, NJ and the NYC area. I'm originally from San Jose, California and I've been on my fair share of adventures. Going outdoors for the sake of being outdoors, photography, and urbex were popular activities amongst a lot of people back home, but coming here, I have yet to meet anyone who's very interested. Moving to the North East for college, I wanted to explore what this area has to offer, but without anyone to help me find locations or even come with me if I did have any, I've been finding myself pretty bored. Going out to explore and take photos was such a huge part of what I used to do on my free time. I'm hoping to meet people who are interested in going out and just seeing what there is to see out there. LMK if you're nearby!

Hey, my name's Calvin. I live in the LA County area and I'm turning 18 soon. I love both video production and photography. Documenting these experiences especially interests me. I have always watched exploration videos and enjoyed photos of people's findings. I have always had a sense of adventure and sometimes practiced casual exploring whenever I was put in the situation: going down storm drains or odd parts of trails, but that's about as far as it went. Although exploring abandoned buildings intrigued me, I never actually explored anything quite large because I didn't know how to find them in my area. However, I found this website and other resources, finally decided to put more effort into locating these areas, and have been driving for a while so I can comfortably seek out these places.

In 2020, I want to make UE a regular hobby of mine. I actually explored some ruins in my area today that I found out existed from this database. Not this super crazy experience like those that you guys have had but it was still fun. My ultimate interest is abandoned buildings rather than mines, tunnels, etc., but I still can't seem to find any in my area. Hopefully that changes as I explore more and grow connections.

Hi, my name's Dylan. Been a lurker here for a long while; only recently did I make an account. I am looking to do some exploration while I'm here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for the next week. I have a few promising locations I plan to check out while I'm here, but since I'm not based in this area I do not have any travel buddies. Hoping to potentially find some peeps to explore with on here, please PM if you might be interested. Also interested in meeting others based in the Lubbock/Amarillo area for ex in that region as well.

I have lot's of experience in hiking/backpacking/camping, primarily in natural/back country settings, and I've been starting to get into urban ex over the last couple years. Currently in college for CS, and am very interested in learning about/meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. Excited to see what all this forum has to offer and to expand on my current background in urbanx.

Hey everybody! My name is Chase, I’m in my early 20’s and I live in the DMV area (near DC). I even been into urbex for awhile now. Only have visited a few sites a few years ago, but I’m super excited to get back into it. I’m up for most things, I really enjoy rooftopping and larger buildings.
I made this account in 2017 looking for spots to explore and now getting back into it I didn’t even notice there were active forums on here. Really looking forward to getting into the community outside of irl friends I explore with.

Hi!!! I heard people don’t use this site quite as much as they used to but I think the idea of introducing myself on here anyway is kind of cute.

I like things that look like mistakes and I guess you could ask what is more haphazard than abandonment. I think everyone dwells on or revisits sites of slight and abandonment everyday, most of this through memory alone, and the few times I’ve been out exploring I’ve thought a lot to myself about what it might mean to instead, seek out real abandoned places and let them animate my life in a good way. Of course I also just love to meet new people, get lost (but not *really*), drink, and see beautiful things.

If there is anything I definitely want to change about how I relate to this hobby it is that I currently lack a relevant skill that could be useful to other explorers and I want to avoid having the only thing I ever bring to the table be the fact that I am “nice.” I live in Minneapolis.
