1. Met up with some bros on my way to my first location:

Please feel free to correct anything I've mislabeled:

2. '71 Mustang Mach 1 Fastback

3.

4. '61-'62 Ford Thunderbird

5.

6.

7. International Harvester Travelette - The O.G. Quad Cab

8.

9. '73 Mustang Mach 1

10. Appears to be '69-'70 Mach 1

11. Early 60's Merc

12.

13. '73-'76 T-Bird

14.

15. '79 Ford Bronco

16.

17.

18. C3 Corvette

This was an absolutely amazing find for me and it should have been an amazing experience. However, it was completely tarnished.

Maynard said it best:

"Blood suckin' parasitic little tick. Take what you want and then go!"

I was surrounded by the bastards and had to stop every few meters to rip them from my legs. I had to skip a half dozen cars that were deeper in the bush because I didn't want to walk through any grass higher than my knees.

When I got back to my car, I decided that this would be the last time I would be stripping down to my bare ass on the side of the road to do the tick search. I'm motherf'ing done with this fiasco.

I'm going to continue to do what I do but only on a recon. basis. Once the weather cools down and they go wherever they go, I will hit it hard. I'm disappointed but it will make for a better experience in the fall.

19. This is on a property that looks very much untouched. However, I didn't want to walk through the tall grass to get to the house. Come October, it's mine!

A car restoration business I stumbled upon on my way back home. What are the odds of them having Mach 1's and a first Gen. Bronco?

20. '69 Mach 1

21.

22.

23. '66-'68 Ford Bronco

24.

Thanks for looking!

Geez, there are some absolute gems out there. Here I was, going to comment on how unique and incredible the Mach 1 was -- only to have you whip out a 2nd one in the same post! What were the chances, indeed!

I just spotted another possible gem of an automotive back-field that I'm not going to make it up to until next summer, most likely. Stick it on your list: 44.047760°, -79.553772°.

WOW! That's in my hood too. I can't believe I didn't find that. I have been through the marsh inside and out looking for gems and this was less than 5 minutes away.

GS for the win! Thank you

I do remember seeing those. I think they may be worth a little cheddar now depending on the condition.

Cool finds and shame about the ticks! Hate those things and am glad I haven't had any yet this year.

I'll never understand the people who claim to be in the "restoration" business yet leave all these cars uncovered in fields to rot. Like if you actually care about the car and have any interest in someday restoring them, why not cover it with a damn tarp? Or buy one of those car shelters from Canadian Tire? Of course anything can be fixed with enough money and time, but why just let things rot if you have an interest in fixing them?

I think these were probably too far gone when the owner purchased them. Probably bought them to salvage parts.

Or, they have an obsession with a specific brand/model and bought anything they could get their hands on.

Ask Bandi if he has ever bought something that probably shouldn't have been saved but did it out of love/obsession.

If I had a comma in my bank balance instead of just a period, I would be the proud owner of way more forgotten snowmobiles that would never get restored. It's kinda sick and fun at the same time. ;)
