Ghetto TV office

This is my office at the local campus TV station (closed circuit on the university cable system). It's so ghetto we don't even have cable, all the content goes down to the media center over fiber for rebroadcasting, and the only way we can check if it's actually working is to go home and turn on the TV. Also, the audio from the campus FM station (which is right down the hall) has to come in over an old stereo since we can't get a feed cable run.

The broadcast system, a computer that runs powerpoint ads most of the time and controls the swither scheduling, and a rack of VCRs for 80's style action:

(the sign on the stereo says "Don't fucking touch this". Some homeless DJ kept coming in to sleep on our couch, and would always turn off the stereo instead of the TV, thus killing our broadcast audio).

The editing studio, with a PC that constantly kills its hardware, and a Mac that can't run much and doesn't have a big enough hard drive to do anything. Occasionally we produce actual content.

My desk and shelves full of random spare parts and crap (I'm the production/tech guy). Half our equipment came from the dump or surplus, since the purchasing department is too busy killing kittens to fill our orders for real technology.

Doing what you can with what you got! Reminds me of when I use to single handedly run a similar CCTV station in my high school, although I would say you have more technology, I had to bring my Laptop to school everyday to run the PowerPoint slides. When I skipped or was sick, well the school just went without a TV station.

It was from a Fark photoshop contest. Part of the reason nothing ever gets done at our station

I think bad stereo would be even more ghetto than mono...left & right channels cutting in and out, never quite knowing which ear you're going to have to use on any given day.
