So did that neolithic tribe, the Sentinelese, it's like we've lost something over the course of our progression.

I have heard that might not have been so much a "feeling" as knowledge passed down in their culture. Ie, when such and such happens to the water, get away from the water.

So the main thing I think we have lost in our progression are the "basics," how to start a fire, healing herbs, atmospheric and geological abnormalities, that type of thing.

Then again, most humans have strong instincts (racial memory?) but the problem is that they aren't as useful in our cities, so we repress or ignore them.

Meep, I hope that made as much sense as it did in my head.

So I said "Why don't you shove it where the sun don't shine" and so he did. He put it in the cupboard under the stairs and it hasn't been mentioned since.

I’ve had these feelings on many occasions.

I was with my girlfriend one night at Puddingstone lake (a small lake near me) when we both got this feeling we just needed to get the hell outta there. The feeling, now that I am thinking about it, was an overwhelming sense of dread. Being as how Puddingstone’s not very well secured, we’re pretty sure there has been violence there in the past. This has happened on several occasions in different locations while we were there at night.

On the Queen Mary, the whole time I was there I felt watched, and several times had an inexplicable feeling of sadness and wrong hit me out of nowhere. (more about this experience in this thread: http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=35430

When I worked at Knott’s Berry Farm, I got these same feelings in several places (the older parts) at the park. I’ve even seen things there (see this thread: http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=35429 for more information on that experience)

I’ve had strange emotions and feelings in my old house as well. I had all the hair on my body standing on end for no reason (middle of the summer with no A/C). Feelings of fear coming out of the blue. I have several reptiles, and sometimes when I got these feelings, they were going kinda nuts, banging around in their terrariums and generally making a racket. My brother has seen things there that he wouldn’t talk about,

My girlfriend’s house is really bad. Once we were there together alone (get your minds out of the gutter) when both of us got this weird feeling. I was sitting in her dad’s Lay-Z-Boy watching TV with her sitting on me, and I could feel her tense up outta nowhere. I realize I am doing the same thing, and I ask her what’s wrong. All she said was that we had to get out of that room, and the house, FAST. So we bolt for the front door and get outside. The door slams shut of its own volition, and we just stand there on her driveway looking at each other. It turns out that she has seen (and claims to have talked to) ghosts (yes, as in plural) in her house, and she had felt the presence of one of the more malevolent ones and wanted to get the hell outta there. No one else in the house sees anything or feels anything, except maybe her mom, but she won’t talk about it.

Probably the creepiest feelings I get are those of being watched. I realize that in today’s society (especially in the U.S.) we are being monitored constantly, almost everywhere we go. I only ever get these feelings when I am in places that I know reasonably that no one’s watching me. I could write a book on this, but this reply is long enuf.

Cheers!
Apallo

Would you mind explaining further on when/how she spoke with these "ghosts?"

Unfortunately she won't talk much about it...She just said that she talked to them...Although i do believe that she did so at night, and at one point, she said there were 5 of them, one was an animal of some kind (reminds her of the gremlin from that Simpsons episode) and one was a really mean old man. Those were the 2 that frightened her the most. The others, she said, ranged from irritated to actually friendly.

She told me one time that she and her best friend had made their own Ouiji board by etching on glass, and saw the actual form of the person they were talking to. She refuses to go into any detail on that as well...These things really scared her.

That is kinda what I was wondering... My personal belief changes when you get into the Ouiji board area. I mean I do believe you can communicate with something. Ghost? Not quite sure... I have had some experiences with them as well and she has great reason to be scared.

it is quite obvious that many people here have had experience with this topic that interests me quite a bit. but i come today not reporting of experiences with ghosts, but a kind of psychic type happenings that often affect me.
Its usually things quite insignificant, but it seems like sometimes, i will do something for no explainable reason, that ends up being very fortunate for me.

for instance, the other day i, out of the blue, decided to read the chapter that we were assigned in history. (keep in mind that this was about the 2nd time that i read the chapter all year). on this very day, my teacher decided to give us a pop quiz. also keep in mind that he has given us one pop quiz in the entire year so far.

another instance is one time i was going over to my friends house, and my mom offered me a ride. i declined even though it was a kinda cold and windy day, and i said i was going to ride my bike. when i got over to my friends house, he told me that he really wanted to go check out a couple places (for UE). both not being able to drive, we rode our bikes.

thats all i can think of right now, but i was wondering if anyone else has had these kind of experiences. who knows, it may just be coincidence, but it happens a lot.

To me, this just sounds like luck. Not anything of the nature we are speaking about.

Years back, I was going home from work and had this urge to check out my Great Aunt's house in Toronto. This house was out of my way and the trip added another 15 minutes to the trip home. I didn't see much of a problem with it since I was on the evening shift (this was after midnight) and the traffic had pretty much died down.

Anyway, I did and noted the changes made by the new owners (she had sold it 5 years previously) and then headed home. The next morning, my Mom woke me up and told me that she just got a phone call saying that my Great Aunt had just died during the night.

Gone for a while. Be back when I'm back.

( do a user search on my threads,i have a long ghost story re my experiences i know u will like ,and too long to retype )

those 'feelings ' u get are exactly what people who have 'ghost' experiences feel, and if i get those in an old building, room etc, i leave....particularly that feeling that says ' you are in danger ' ....which i translate as my senses giving me the appropriate interpretation of the energy around me...

my experiences have left me both fearful of that feeling, and yet wanting to relive it just to confirm its existence//

when I was about 10 or 11 years old, I was in my room at my old house in Saint Louis Park, (its by minneapolis) Minnesota. my old house was built in 1947 and has been in my family for almost all that time, I think. well, anyway I was in my room and all of a sudden, this feeling of terror swept over me. I went and told my dad, and he agreed to sit with me until I fell asleep. I felt scared in that room alot of the time, especially at night. I slept on the couch in the living room or in my parents chair in their bedroom. I moved into our new house in Texas and I don't have that fear anymore. I do sleep on the living room couch in the summer because the fan in my room doesn't work.
