| | | I decided to check out this location today from the Ottawa River Parkway bridge and the 50 foot gap has been repaired. Here are some pics Now this might be cause their seriously considering expanding the O-Train into Gatineau as the expansion was canceled so yeah... Also they have put up new "No Tresspassing" signs

| | | From what I have heard, the track was always supposed to have been replaced after the new mega watermain was put in, but since it wasn't being used, no-one was in any rush to fill the gap. Fairly often the O-Train makes demonstration runs on the various lines around Ottawa. There are 3 trains, 2 of which are in regular service, while the third one gets maintained or serviced. This means there is often a third train available for these demo runs, and from what I have heard, one such demo run was made to the Casino du Lac Leamy. This is likely the incentive for getting the gap filled this year. In other words, the bridge sees no regular rail traffic and is safe to walk across. When a train comes there are a few places to hide... you can hop down onto one of the concrete piers between the truss sections if you really need to. I've climbed down and underneath the bridge deck on one of these piers, and there was a little alcove where you could sit. I suspect it's a good spot to drink or shoot-up too.

| Well my name isn't OC Infiltrator for nothing, I know we have 3 trains numbered C1, C2 and C3. Anyway if we do expand into Gatineau then Bayview might have to be double tracked so that the train at Carleton isn't waiting for ever for the other train.
