I'm finally getting around to making this introductory post that I should have done 4 years ago when I actually made this account. So Hi everybody. I've been interested in this stuff since I was 12 or 13 years old and my family bought some land in upstate NY that just happened to have an abandoned hotel/bar/restaurant/whore house less than 100 feet from our property. I've been exploring on and off every since, much more so after I got into photography in high school. I live on Staten Island in NYC and would love to meet up with other people here if it meant getting to explore somewhere other than the Farm Colony/Seaview Hospital for a change.

Hello hello!

I have been a long time lurker, who may or may not have forgotten about their account here... so rather than create something new, I figured I would dust off this old thing!

I'm mainly kicking around the Manitoba, Canada region taking photographs and exploring the urban decay so often found in the area. Truth be told, Instagram has really re-invigorated my desire to explore and show people what's out there. There are a lot of fantastic photographers out there (yes, I'm talking about you) so keep doing what you're doing and keep inspiring me to try something new

Now that my post count is above 0, I may as well keep on the trend and keep posting -- see you all on the forums soon!

Ps. If you are based out of Manitoba and wouldn't mind another person tagging along, shoot me a PM!

Cheers,
A

What up Ninjas!

I was recently hooked to urbex a few months back when a buddy of mine brought me to this drain systems in the Bay Area. Had to get a little dirty and run a few hundred yards to the entrance, but it was all worth it. We were in complete darkness and alone, very alone. I was drawn to the quietness when we got inside. Couldn't hear cars, planes or other people other than ourselves. We walked for what felt like eternity and even found about a million spray cans along the way.

Personally I can do without the graffiti, I'm there for the structure and being one of the few people who dares to see this place.

A few members of that excursion, including me, has decided to do a ton of research on more places to explore. We found a few other places though social media, but these were places that's been touched (graffiti) by many others. While still awesome to visit the Space, we're now in search of the underground bunkers in or around the SF area. Let's meet up and do some Ninja-ing.

Here's a spot my crew just visited in the Bay Area.

Hey ya'll. The name is Cat, obviously I'm totally new here.

I'm 26, female, interested in all things macabre. I run my own embroidered patch company, while going to school for film and working full time at an organic slash natural grocery store. I live in Atlanta, currently, but spent most of my life in Chicago and Boston. It's hard to explain, exactly, when I got into UrbanEx... but I think it started in high school, though the nature of my explorations were strictly paranormal, back then. As the story goes, I had enough creepy and terrifying experiences that I kind of gravitated away from anything that wasn't just decrepit and abandoned.

I suppose I've always been attracted to the lonely and unexplained... paranormal, or no.

Anyhow, I tend not to explore urban Atlanta but my girlfriend and I have found some killer sites in rural north and south Georgia.

Thanks for having me, I am glad to be here.

Hello. I am Kippy. Does anybody actually read these?
I live in the Milwaukee area.
I've been fascinated with abandoned, derelict buildings, objects, really anything of the sort. Only recently have I begun actually visiting some of the locations I've read about.
I'm not a good photographer.
I'm a little bit upset I didn't get into this earlier, as it seems many of the interesting locations in my area have been demolished. Mainly, I'm looking for a hope that urbex isn't dead here in MKE.
I might post here occasionally.

Hi all,

I've poked around the site for quite some time now and I figured I ought to introduce myself. I'm Jeff from Portland and I love exploring abandoned things. I've been passionate about photography for a few years now and I've always enjoyed decaying and derelict things. UER seems to have a great community with lots of knowledge and experience. I look forward to many future explores!

Hello! I'm Nick and am new to UER but not completely new to UE. I hope to get more involved in exploration and to meet some fellow explorers. I currently live near Indianapolis and would love to hear from members in that area. Can't wait to get involved in this community.

Hey guys, been exploring my region for months now. Working on a project with another of the UER and a local friend I grew up with, we're even able to get information from the mayor through a trusted resource regarding tunnels. Pretty exciting stuff. I'm hoping to receive recommendation for full member access so I can add some location and details that may not be there already from our explorations. In the past two days I've spent 8 hours each time with a friend tracing up and down campus for new leads, and have been moderately successful. Can't wait to share more as more information is gathered, I really don't like posting publicly but I understand it's somewhat necessary to be approved, fair enough, but I have a lot on the line if it ever caught up with me so it's really not worth sharing anything too crazy right now haha. Love to learn, love to meet other explorers such as Tim that I met with in town today, great guy, looking forward to continuing research with him. Best wishes explorers 1.

Hello, I'm Moon, I've been exploring urban and uncultivated places both here and in the middle East. I was introduced to this hobby due to my appreciation of free running and graffiti. From that I've had epic adventures and have even stumbled on old military training tunnels in the mountainsides surrounding the dead Sea.

I have been out of exploration while I dealt with personal issues, and I can't wait to see what other new fun s*** to stumble on.

Hi everyone my name is Scott. I live on the south shore of Massachusetts. I've been drawn to old abandoned places since I was a kid. I actually lived in Taunton for five years just over a mile away from the Taunton State Hospital. I never knew the place existed until after it was demolished. My wife used to jog through the property in the late nineties. Talk about a day late dollar short.

Anyway, here are some pictures of the last place I checked out. From what I understand, this is the oldest vertical turbine/generator in existence. Hope the pics work, and if the quality is crap it's because I took them with my phone

Hey, my name is Kent. I'm 18 y/o from London Ontario Canada and attend Fanshawe College. I'm allowed to use my parents cars and would I would love to meet up with anyone near London.
I often travel to Toronto, Michigan, and Montreal where I try to meetup with fellow explorers. Once every one or two years I visit to Florida, St. Louis, and Chicago.
I occasionally metal detect which often leads me to abandoned buildings and empty fields were houses once stood decades ago.(I always ask permission). Recently I have gotten into rooftopping and am further exploring photography.
Excited to see how this community can benefit my adventures!
