Hey guys, kinda new to urban exploring, have some experience with abandonments in the country. Looking forward on learning how to do active buildings and learn a bit more on photography. Got a few areas i want to try out in toronto just need to do some more recon. If anyone in the GTA is down for giving out some advice for a beginner itd be much appreciated!

Hello everyone, I've been urban exploring around the mid-Atlantic area for a few years and upon researching locations, stumbled across this site. I'm hoping to learn about new locations and possibly meet other adventurers around my area.

I also look forward to gathering tips and advice from fellow explorers.

Hello Explorers,

I did not notice this thread previously.

I was born in Harborview Hospital and have lived in the Seattle area ever since.
My brother and I have been exploring Seattle since we were very young kids.
Some friends and myself joined this forum about 6 months ago when we heard there is an actual name for what we do.

I adventure out with friends in the Seattle area at least 6 times a month. Usually 18 sites or so a month.
After reading rookie faq and rules I realize I need to start posting my own composition's and not just have my friends post them.

I look fwd to meeting some of you as we trudge the road of Urbex adventures.

My name's Matt and I didn't realize there was an actual name for this until a friend told me about this site. I've kinda been exploring all my life. I was born, and pretty much raised in Alaska. Since we didn't have much to do, both my parents would take me exploring to "keep me out of trouble." Granted, my mom arranged "tours" before hand at the local post office, bank, supermarket, and airport. However, my dad was a little more adventurous. He brought me to check out old canneries, mine shafts, and even a boat graveyard.
Despite this adventurous lifestyle, both my parents had a respect towards those who were there before them, as well as anyone who came after. This respect is the foundation of how I approach each location I explore.
"Take nothing but pictures (that aren't posted to social media) leave nothing but footprints," is my personal motto.
I'm currently in Detroit and loving the countless opportunities to explore!

See you around.

"So, what are you doing here? Why did you bring wine coolers and condoms?"

Man, no offense, but I hope I never go to a Meet & Greet and find YOU sitting there! Haha J/K! Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Hi!
My name is Tommy. I've always had an interest in UE, only ever done it a few times myself, didn't know there was an actual term for it until recently. I went to a rave under a bridge in Chicago once, and there were these massive abandoned silos nearby that you could get into pretty easily. The silos are gone now but it was so cool. I haven't explored much beyond that, only occasionally checking out sketchy little spots if I randomly come across one when walking around and the "chill spots" where graf kids go (i dont graf, i just knew kids in highschool who did and they always knew about chill spots near train tracks or whatever). I saw a post about UE on facebook, a video of people taking photos at these places and realized there was something I could google to find more. I'm going to be getting a camera soon, and trying to find cool places in Chicago.

Hey guys,
Sorry I havent been on in such a long time. But i have still been an active explorer. Over the time I have been gone I have gotten much wiser and understand the culture of what urban exploring is really about now. I hope to start finally contributing to this online community from now on.

Hello,

My name is Kevin I am 23 and I have doing UE for the past 5 years. I mainly have explored rural areas such as farms and old houses so I would call that more "rural exploring". I have done little actual "urban exploring". I specifically enjoy UE on a photography perspective. I also like it because of the history all of these locations have.

I look forward to talking with everyone on here and I'm very happy to be a part of your community! Thanks!

HI!

HI!

so I'm new to this site (and "forums" in general) but not new to exploring! I'm disabled (my lungs and heart suck) but this doesn't keep me from exploring. In the past few months alone I got to visit 2 schools, some rad farm houses/rural houses, my first DRAIN, some nursing homes and the coolest basement cellar thing ever. I have always been attracted to peeling paint, grime, rusted drips and that every beloved moldy smell. Probably because I played in a lot of basements/outside as a kid and love to uncover new things and see places not many people get to see. Thats how it all started really. Lurking in very old, very grimy basements. I'm excited to check out the photography on this site, hopefully meet some like minded individuals and check out some new locations! I'm friendly (generally) so send me a message if you like. OH i'm in Wisconsin... 26, and also love lichen/the overgrowth of nature back into the decay. so. yes. okay. I think this is all I really need to do here, yeah? If you see me out dragging or lugging my O2 tank around come say hi and lets explore!

INTRO COMPLETE!

Hello I'm Michael from Missouri. Been exploring since I was a child but never really knew anybody else shared my fascination with the urban side of it. I'm by no means a photographer but I do like to take pictures on my adventures. Not a lot of people from my state that I have met enjoy potentially crawling around in sewers so if you're in or around the Missouri area feel free to PM me for a meetup sometime.

Yo! I'm Gabe, a student from Eastern Iowa who recently got into the urbex scene mainly for photography. I've always been interested in exploring, and it's great to finally put a name to something I've been wanting to really get into for years. I'm very eager to talk with more experienced explorers, and can't wait to get more involved in this community.

Feel free to ask for my Skype/Instagram/Snapchat/basically any social media I have that's not Facebook, I'm always open to meeting new people in a safe environment.

Edit: Also, Steam.

Hi, I'm Adriane and I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba. I've recently gotten into urban exploring when I was exploring with some friends in Cleveland. Now I'm hooked on looking for abandoned places and taking some awesome photos.

Hey, everyone! I'm an amateur street photographer, and I've recently become interested in urban exploration after hearing some rumors from my father and grandfather. I live in Atlanta, and they were talking about some underground city accessed through a mausoleum back in the 1970s...my ears were perked!

Anyway, it has been hard finding locations at first. I have crept in to a few abandoned homes around where I live, but I hope to attend one of the meet-ups here soon.

Looking forward to exploring!

I suppose I should do one of these... why not.

I'm probably the most random person you will ever meet. I'm currently studying Pre-engineering, Although that may change to applied physics. Your typical physics geek, but also has a thing for electronics and high speed endurance driving. I've had a camera in my hand as long as I can remember (dad was a professional photographer). I started exploring a number of years back not really knowing what it was, originally just trying to climb buildings, but the love for it (and history) progressed and it's become a slight addiction.

Aside from the whole "exploring" thing, I'm a fan of post/math-rock, climbing (anything and everything), and I'm a bit of an established sailor. I've been called macgyver many of times, usually because I am a bit over prepared.

Interesting facts, I can solve a rubik's cube in 31 seconds, I've almost died of hypothermia (twice), and I once broke into my own house using nothing but a pocket knife and redbull can(without damaging anything that is). Hmm, I'm forgetting something I know. I also may or may not be a professional narcissist.

Dream car (the most normal one) well two, I need a morgan threewheeler in my life. The second would be a e63 estate (wagen) with the renntech 800 package... and a bit of electronics. (Valentine v1, Passport 9500ci, zr4 blinders, uniden digital/analog scanners with trunk tracking, uniden CB, Uniden S-A radio, and of course whale concealed lighting clusters, with the entire horn package, and light cut outs and PA. and the rest of the list which I won't list) Aka, the ultimate Cross-country car.

see, told you I was random.
