Anybody a God parent here? Post some pics if you have them!

My best friend finally had a baby this year! This is Benjamin! He is almost 2 months old already, and I cannot WAIT to get posted back next year to be closer to him.

Aww, what a sweetie! Now, it's my understanding that God parents is a religious thing. Is that true? I don't have a "God parent" picked out for my son. It would be my hope that should anything happen to me, my parents or brothers would take care of him.

Yeah I think it's a religious thing. I think I just loosely used the term there.

I'm not religious but I do have my 2 best friends listed if something did happen to my husband and I.

Same with little Ben here. His momma isn't religious either, but wanted me to have the responsibility if something were to happen to her.

I have no idea if there is a non-religious term for this. Guardian?

I'm a Godfather to my best friends daughter Elizabeth. Don't have a pic on my phone but I'll get one up. I'm not her guardian, just a Godparent. Responsible for educating the girl on religion and morals. Mike (her father) being hispanic, it also makes he and I compadres, which in this sense is an untranslatable word for the relationship bewyeen godfathers and fathers.
