Camp 30
< on 5/23/2015 6:06 PM >

First visit to camp 30 on the weekend. Really cool spot but it seems like a tourist spot honestly. There was easily 25 others there at the same time. On the way back to Hamilton we scouted a few spots downtown Toronto. Has anyone been in the Malting plant or RL Hearn lately? Is it even possible? 1.

The one time I went, there was fresh plywood on every opening and a security guard onsite. FML.

Nice shots. Yes, people have been in those other places.

Nice shots, always like seeing this place.

No one has been in the Malt for years. You can probably tell why if you go right up to it. Hearn on the other hand is accessed every now and then depending on what's happening there.

I think I may have been the last one in malt and I keep passing by every so often to check on the status....so far, locked up tight. Not sure if access is possible through the upper floor but getting there would be quite the challenge to start with.

Very cool!

Too bad that so many people were there, I'm sure that would ruin a bit of the mood.

My friends and I were interested in going to the Hearn Plant.

Camp 30 confuses me. It seems like every other time someone goes there's security, or something. But then other people go and it's full of people walking their dogs or just tourists exploring it. Seems very luck of the draw.

That LOOTER piece above the pool is hot fire. I'm going back just for a shot of that shit.

Cops ask you to leave... wait ten minutes and go back, it's that easy at Camp 30.

Yeah well i guess we got lucky! it might have been because it was a holiday as well. Lots of super nice graf, my favorite was a seek throw above a doorway which was burnt behind and white paint. so simple and creative!!!

but i am assuming the inside of hearn is somewhat safe now since they are having the festival. Theres spots in the fence that would be easy to hop as well, without being seen by security. I assume there is cameras though? Maybe it will be a night mission sometime soon.

And yeah, I had only seen the Malt for the first time 2 winters ago. I think a ton of stuff is already demoed around it? Plus an electric fence, so thats not to much fun. I guess its impossible now.

Malt isn't locked up tight, you gotta be resourceful =P. Its a huge challenge for most though, as most on this site couldn't climb a fence, let alone other stuff, to save their lives.

I like hearing about new people doing Hearn! Go you guys!! Be careful though a lot of tickets given out there lately. Instead of being resourceful and being unseen, there's been a lot of breaking things to get in lately and they are starting to get more strict.

I just dealt with another local big spot yesterday helping the security guard fix a door some urban explorers decided to sledgehammer open. =P

When you can't get in from the first floor, look up. ;)

Glad you enjoy this place. It's easily one of my all time favourites. It's unique in that it's a whole complex.

Are you shooting with a film camera?

The place is usually quite busy with everything from people walking their dogs to kids playing "man hunt" to other explorers.

If you knew me then you could have called me and we would have gone for a beer!

It was my understanding that the town designated the place a park and that you were free to roam around as you please? I was there back in the fall of last year and the whole street was line up with cars parked on the shoulder and tons of people there. Never got bothered once, one guy had the metal detector out. No police anywhere in sight, and a band shooting or practicing in the cafeteria. It was really lax.

No you still aren't allowed on there but people do anyways. It just depends on the day if you will be asked to leave or not.

Funny enough we may have run into each other a couple times that same day. I was with another female, and you and I discussed the possibility of tunnels running under the camp in one of the basements of a building there. If so, small world haha!
