Posted by Asherdeist I hope there is something left by end of thursday. I'm going to head out there in the evening if anyone will want to join. PM for details. |
Posted by Storytrail What a neat location this was. Wish I'd had a chance to see it! Seems to be the way with Ontario abandonments... the good (and big ones) ones always get torn down (with the exception of a couple). |
Posted by rob.i.am But they're inevitably replaced by other cool spots. |
Posted by Storytrail Are they though? I guess it depends on how you'd define cool. I prefer spots that have been abandoned and decaying for decades - the kind of places all over the states. Not to say some of the newer stuff isn't cool, it just isn't my preference. |
Posted by rob.i.am I hear you. However, there have been some pretty cool places that have come online in the last few years. Some are still there, some are now gone. Many people lament "the good old days" by which they typically mean "when I was exploring but you weren't". That variously means "I saw cool places that are now gone" or "ho hum, you went to that old whore?". What's refreshing to me is seeing thoughtful posts from newcomers like you and your exploring partner. |
