Urban Explorer PBX

OK my first Thread in COM!

I have been experimenting recently with the Asterisk Open Source PBX system and it works great for VOIP communications, Im thinking about setting up my system to host extensions for explorers.

I only thought of doing this because there are some people that you just dont trust with personal information like phone numbers.

Given some time for me to work out the details of course.

Any thoughts from you guys is welcome.

JC

C'mon at least reply in the thread, I would appreciate the constructive critisism or any feedback.

its till in progress but currently its running on a test number if anyone wants to try it out.

its currently set as an Augusta Georgia Number but it will probably be a Toll-Free 1-800 number when opened to users.

The number is 1-706-993-1734

Current Features That do work.
Voice Mail
Connecting a VOIP Phone to the account - Phone will actually ring in your home
E-Mailing copies of voicemails to an e-mail account

JC

(P.S I will give out test accounts if anyone is interested, the test accounts will move if it is made generally available)

I'm sorry. I didn't understand what you were asking, let alone not understand what you wanted to do with a PBX system...

Thought you wanted to hack into a local PBX system for your own needs...

If it's your own (original-owner) PBX system and would like to allow other members access to it via user features, then that's okay. Just don't hack into a current city-operated system...

I think I'll get a lot more good out of this than just voicemail when I set up the SIP thing, but it seems pretty cool.

You dial 706-993-1734, then punch 106, and leave me a message.

O.K with the initial interest i have gone ahead and put the PBX on Toll-Free Service.

If your provider charges you long distance feel free to use the Toll-Free Number but if they dont charge Long Distance please use the original Dial-In Number.

Toll-Free Means Toll-Free to you but not to me.

Toll free Dial in 1-877-434-5996 or dial 1-706-993-1734 if your Long-Distance is free.

Prolly the wrong thread to ask, but on the subject: What are VoIP phones, and how do they work (or how do you connect one to the system if at home or elsewhere)?

I'd be interested in having a free VoIP system for my business, instead of using my cell all the time, as I do travel as well.

This seems like a really good idea.

It's like travelling back in time.

I'd love a test account
