Camera surveillance ?

Was driving in the area the other day and noticed a couple new signs. Looks like the town of Saratoga has been busy plastering the roads with those stupid black and red "Neighborhood Watch" signs. There's one in front of the camp. There is also a new sign that says, "Warning: Camera Surveillance." No clue where they placed the camera or how closely it's being monitored, but just a heads up for anyone who is going out. I wonder what inspired them to post that sign???

If it's near the road and the gate, then it's easy to get around. But if the sign is up at the camp, then it must be just a simple deterrant as there's no power to that entire camp and I can't imaging where they would get power from.

There are a few homes nearby, and one at the north end of the property. It could be just "false" signs. I owe that property another visit anyhow...

The one I saw is just in front of the main gate. I haven't been up there in a while, so I have no idea if they bothered with posting anything at the actual camp. Just thought it was odd that they were trying to monitor that place more closely, but they again I bet they've always had high school kids and the like messing with it.

Remember cameras can be solar power and have battery backup for night power and be wireless with the cell phone network...

Ya... it's called "technology" and a lot can happen in technology in 6 years, 4 months, and 18 days..... which is, coincidentally, the last time anything was posted to this thread.

Some buddies and I rode our mountain bikes there yesterday (October 25, 2020). Please is in much worse shape compared to what's shown in the last set of photos, unsurprisingly. The County has put up some cones and barricades on the gate from Bohlman Rd, but doesn't seem to be any concerted effort to keep people out. On the north side of Bohlman, which is supposedly the other side of this county park (Stuart Ridge), there are some bike trails we regularly ride down into Villa Montalvo. It's also in close proximity to some houses where we think the trail builders live. I have been accosted by who I think are the trail builders, and have been told to keep out. I have also spotted signs that warn riders to stay away and that messing with any of the developed trails will get you killed. These are all bike-specific warnings from the locals, not from land managers trying to keep people out. I have not noticed any game cameras anywhere, either on/near the road or within the park.

I took a lot of photos, and will try to post them soon. They're quite a contrast to the photos posted circa late-2000s. I will try to post

Going to second mtbnut, condition of the camp is significantly worse than in the photos currently uploaded (makes sense given the time that's passed though). A lot more graffiti, although otherwise the buildings themselves were fairly structurally sound. Or sound enough at least.

Photo below is inside the living room of the main cabin.

Didn't see any signs about cameras or any cameras. Can confirm that we couldn't see any power lines or working power sources either.

I can confirm, there is power going to the location, but I didn't see any cameras on the way.

Anyone gone up there more recently?

Last time I went was almost 11 years ago. Don't remember any signs for camera's, but I do remember the last time I went, I got spooked out because it seemed like someone had been living there since there was a loud knock from the upstairs that drove us out.
