now that they have demolished the church i've noticed that they are digging in the yard. does anyone know what they are looking for? or what was built on the grounds before the church was built?

they are digging to study the old foundations of the previous churches and school and small business that were there a long time ago

They also looking for a priest ( maybe they found him by now ) who was buried under the church.So they are hoping to find the sepulture as the actual priest found a final resting spot for him at a cemetery.

They found all kind of little tools etc to find out what kind of business or workshop was there in front as there are no signs or at least no details known so far.

I had few nice talks with the archeologists there ! That is so interesting...ok it's not a Pharao tomb they are after but hey ! It is nice !

Of course it is. We more are more fascinated by the past -O hindsight thou art 20/20 - and it really is no surprise that no matter how much we might think elsewise, digging up something "old" is always going to be a million times better than watching something "new" go up.

Another of way of saying it would be to suggest that pictures of buildings "going up" only really look cool after the building is like at least 20 years old and has become part of our cultural thinking. Funny because we are seeing what we know being born, sort of like baby pictures
