A nice looking place to do artistic pictures with no stress and all the time you want. Easy to have all the historic information you want there.

Yeah, very touristic place. I was even let down when I went, because I didn't feel like in a ghost town at all, like advertised.

I used to live there for a month, in the low season, i had the feeling! You need to go when it's closed, but you can't access the interior of the houses and the old pulp factory. The entry is now really expensive, from June to August. In the past years, the site owners changed almost 3 times, from SEPAQ to MRC, then SEPAQ again and HQ.

In the surrounding hills, you can find 3 natural accessible caves, one more important with underground stream. You can access them without paying. Be carefull, the one with the stream is quite dangerous in winter and spring, a boy died there in spring 2006, he fell in a chimney and drawn.

Now they are rebuilding the old houses to do some hostelling, and there is a project from Hydro Québec to build a underground powerplant. I joined the BAP advisory, including details of the ongoing project.
