	Why did the place look so bad...........If it closed in 1999............Sure went downhill quick ... Does anyone know why it closed down?

	The market for resort hotels in upstate New York dropped like a rock from the 80s onward, and there were so many competing hotels that they all went under quickly. Why pay $250 a night to go upstate when you can pay that much or even less for airfare somewhere else, or a cruise, etc.
