This was the state hospital that the move "Session 9" was filmed in!

Was the tunnel system with the fence running down the middle part of the facility? Or was that in studio?

I finally got to see all of Session 9 on saturday night. I didn't realize how creepy that movie is. Also, Danvers is such a beautiful building, really gothic. I was expecting campy at the extreme, but this felt like a sincere movie.

Mike, how much of that movie was actually shot in Danvers/Massachusetts?

So, how much of the inside really looks like it did in the movie?

From what I understood from the commentary on the DVD the entire movie was shot on location at the site (including the outside shots).

They modified all of the rooms to add their own touches (different patient artwork, more elaborate machinery). The room with all of the Session tapes was actually a collection of all the junk they could find throughout the complex collected together.

If you look at some photos online there looks like there actually was a chair in a long hallway, just like the iconic ethereal chair in the movie. They seemed to take the whole situation very seriously.

Session 9 was such a horrible movie, but it's interesting to see parts of the sets left behind inside.

Session 9 to me just seemed totally half baked.

I hear the DVD ending had TWO plot twists that you could select from, but I was not impressed with the lame for video copy I saw.

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

Session 9's back in rotation on IFC. The movie sucks but there's some nice interior footage and several striking aerial pans over the site (wow, that place is huuuge!)

I enjoyed the movie and thought it had a kind of cool twist to it. And of course, the setting was incredible.

Would I be able to watch Session 9 somewhere online instead of finding the dvd somewhere? If I can, can someone throw a link my way.

I doubt you are going to find an version to watch ONLINE. Rent it, it's available in most video rental stores, might even be in a bargin bin.
The movie wasn't bad, it was like CSI Danbury. It's sure beat the hell out of DEATH TUNNEL, I was SO excited for that movie, well it sucked, BAD, the only part I liked were the extras about the history and old photos and such.
If you want another cool movie along the same lines and Session 9, try one called "Boo!" not bad for the small budget

You can download it pretty easily if you install a Torrent client like BitLord.

Sorry for my lag

All scenes in session9 with the exception of

1: Phils scene at the bar... That was filmed at " suppinos " down the street

2: Jeff's shower scene .... filmed at his hotel room

3: Gordons house .... its a house on Lynnfield street in peobody

The rest of the Movie was shoot completly in DSH, the hank couch scene was shoot in a made up room in the kitchen.
