Rope swinging, thats where its at! 150 feet of swing off a 300' high bridge.
bit of a workout to make the way back up, but well worth the trill.

Wow, that's fucking amazing! I did something like this (although quite a bit smaller) in a huge indoor stadium a few years ago with uLive and Bounce:

Quite a bit smaller... but its indoor, great on them rainy days. Got a buddy he does only 50-75' swings. i for my self don't bother unless its at least 100'. the time for set up is the same, if your going to fuck up, you may as well be way up. that way you do not have to worry about being stuck in a bed if something goes wrong. There is a bit of planning, and decent amount of gear involved. The worst is the kids you see on Youtube, just one rope wrapped around sharp edges or handrails with a granny knot holding everything...

We do rappelling practice in a U of M building with a sweet 10-story stairwell. They mined out the basement 100' underground in the sandstone strata and connected it to the surface building with two shafts.

http://www.docstoc...gineering-Building

The video (also includes confused/drunk civil engineers, listen for the part where DC asks them something like "What's the best way to break through a cement wall deep underground", and they say "That's not a realistic situation, we dont' build that shit just so you can destroy it!"): http://www.youtube...atch?v=HQNUiCMoj1U

Here's one where we rappelled down into a flooded tunnel and had to land in boats. Not much video of the ropework unfortunately: http://www.youtube...atch?v=44lYjOL78aM

Who? Junkyard or me? The one I posted is just under 300 feet.

Junkyard's, but only because I've heard the height of yours before.

I've seen the rocket pit quoted at both 40m and 50m, so im wondering if anyone who has been has a better idea.

I guestimated about 90 ft. I had a 150 ft rope and plenty left to go down the stairs, plus a good 20 to the anchors from the railing.

Whoops, I just put a few good ones on my post in the Intro thread.

Lets see, where to start here...

Silly place to park a truck, 200ft underground in a vertical shaft, pushed in nose first and standing upright with it's bed sticking upwards. Vin# recovery.

Awesome shots! #5 is confusing. I can't see where the rope is anchored, or where you would have rappelled from? #12 is pretty awesome! Accident, or on purpose?

Saw your black Stop descender. I'm using a black RIG. You'd probably like it.

Simple action, very light, locks off automatically by rotating the lever around clockwise. Locks itself down TIGHT, no slipping at all, even on 3/8". No need to tie it off.

Nice pics =) Looks like we all could have some fun together.
