So far, among other things, we've had a Chevy HHR, a Fiat 500, a Toyota Yaris, a Chevy Aveo, a Chevy Impala, and a couple others.

I second this. I'd be too embarrassed to be seen in an HHR.

I'm not 25 so I can't rent cars (and have never needed to), but I would like to set fire to our delivery vehicles at work. Two Swifts, an S10 and a Cavalier. Not sure of the exact years, but all are a few years old, and all of them make me die a little on the inside when I actually have to drive at work. We had an Optra at the shop I used to work at, which was equally as unpleasant. They all just feel so cheap and I find them all really uncomfortable. I think the Cavalier has to be the worst...those seats are just so horrible!! I think my diesel is more responsive on the gas pedal than any of those, which is sad.

The HHR was nicer than the Malibu.

It's really sad to say that the HHR was the best Chevrolet we've had so far, but it's completely true.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

I had an Aveo and an S10 as delivery vehicles and as much as I HATED the aveo, it was actually a better drive than the S10, but only because it had been beaten to hell and back.
Im sure I'd take a well treated S10 over another Aveo

The '11 Nissan Sentra I Took to Winnipeg was a great little mover, made it 700km on a single tank of gas.

But when my window got smashed downtown they gave me a '11 Hyundai Elantra wich actually wasnt as fun as the Sentra.

I think my best rental car experience involved a 90's Plymouth Acclaim. The cow pastures were much much fun.

these weren't rentals, but when I worked at Job Corps over in Vermont, I had a fleet of GSA cars at my disposal.
the very worst was the 01 Dodge Stratus. It was just junk. It wasn't comfortable to drive, the engine made more noise than power, the transmission was about an decisive as a politician and it was already rusting at the 2 year old mark. Next on the list was the 2001 Oldsmobile Alero sedan... this was the drivers ed car and granted, it had the shit pounded out of it, but fuck a duck! it was the only car I ever refused to take anywhere.

we also had an 01 and 03 Malibu... I didn't like them either.

nope, my favorite vehicle to take was a big, fat 2000 Chevy Express 3500 15-passenger van. 6.5L TD V8, big fat automatic... with government plates in city traffic, I was a vehicular double-oh seven... I had a license to kill, baby.

mine was G43 13608... and I miss her.

This is what my friends at Job Corps Security in Springdale, OR have at their disposal:

2010 Ford Explorer
2010 Ford Expedition (they usually take then on patrols and running into town to get kids)
2011 Dodge Ram 1500 (this is for hauling shit from the auto shop to places)

2008 Thomas Safe-T-Liner C2 (according to them, its always having intercooler issues)
2011 Ford E-350 Club Cab (The last gen E-350 actually is more like the 80s models! it doesn't suck!)
2011 Chevy Impala (thats the drivers ed car...and flaming red)

Getting stuck with an '02 Sentra when my '95 Neon got rear-ended. I actually was about begging for that Dodge slushbox by the end of the weekend. Fucking Sentra couldn't get out of it's own way, the brakes were awful, the speakers were all blown, and handled like a spastic dog on wet linoleum. Whoever had it before me really flogged that car.

A close second would be the Caliber we took to Ohio for a family gathering. That car is one big rolling blind spot, and uncomfortable to boot. The interior looked like it was designed by Lego.

On the other hand, when the body shop fucked up on my car and State Farm made them do a do-over, I got an '03 VW turbo fully-loaded Passat. I was rather sad to give that one back.
