so·ci·e·ty/səˈsīətē/
Noun:

  • The aggregate of people living together in a more or less ordered community.
  • The community of people living in a particular region and having shared customs, laws, and organizations.

How people live together in a society has always been one of my favorite topics for thought. Religion, politics, philosophy, and now technology are all significant aspects of this, and they all have their own boards on UER, but I would like to have a place for discussing things primarily from the point of view of how they affect people and their relationships with each other and to society in general.

UER is a society or a community? Are the terms interchangeable? Dumb question, I think communities exist w/in societies, right?

Awesome. I love discussing society and human nature in general. I think some good discussions will be had here by a lot of intelligent people.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

I mean society in general, but yeah, every individual community can be interesting too.

Years ago, Phreakmonkey was working on a set of guidelines for "fringe communities," which would apply equally to Urbex, hackers, etc.
