That is such an inconsequential an amount that it shouldn't even really be considered in this discussion. Also if the extremely rare chance someone gets pregnant, the solution is to kill the child who did nothing wrong? Shouldn't that mean that all kids of criminals should be aborted?

I don't know about you but, as someone who brought this up for a very salient reasons beyond statistics alone, 1%-5% is more than enough to accommodate an "exception to the rule" even to people who think otherwise on the whole.

I personally feel as there is virtually no exception to the rule. The only time I could ever be ok with an abortion is if the mother or child would die as a result of the pregnancy being brought to term. That's my feelings on the matter.

It's just that I see that all the time and never seem to get a definitive answer to the question of "if it isn't a child, then what is it".

1. Why is killing a child allowed for everyone because a small percentage may feel they need it? I am a struggling single father, I need money to supply for my son, I should be allowed to choose to rob a bank. I think the percentage of struggling parents is higher than the percentage of rape babies. So since that's the case it should be legal to rob banks if you need money.

2. So what is it then? If I get a blue and yellow crayon and mix them together, what is the result? You can't just assume its going to be green or even a color, right? Just like when you fertilize an egg with sperm, it could be anything!

So, to get back to the social aspect of the discussion, you are improperly using the word "child" to try to sway opinion about things to your point of view, by attempting to transpose the value that society places on children on to what is not a child at all, but a simple collection of cells.

so are you saying that an abortion at week 11 is murder, since by definition it is a child at that point?

Also my son will always be my child, regardless of age, so calling him as such doesn't really affect anything.

The difference between you and most people is that we do not think that, after sperm and before birth, there is a single instant in time in which a living, breathing creature comes into full blown existence.

We believe that simply because there is no such moment in time.
