This was sent to me via email. I realize that most of these have probably been seen before. It seemed like fun and a good way to resurrect the "art car thread" or "bizarre car thread" ideas.

Funny that you mention that, there actually was a (real) car show in the parking lot of the local Walmart last weekend, I thought maybe it was a country-wide thing and you went to yours, lol.

yeah, until some clod in a bondo'd together Escort piles into you at speed because his fucking car broke in half.

Sorry, but the only part of an inspection that I feel is idiotic is plugging my car into the DMV computator.

There's shitty, and then there's "a danger to everyone else on the road," like that Golf. The rest of them look safe enough, and that log on that Subaru is probably tougher than the OEM bumper.

What's weird is that in PA, there are like 4 pages of requirements for your car to be safe enough to drive, but in Ohio, if it runs (and passes the BS emissions test) it's good enough!

I wonder how much collusion goes on between politicians and the auto dealers when it comes to inspections.

Hahahahaha... I had a Road Gear cassette deck in my Daytona, it had an auxiliary input jack so you could plug your Discman into it. It didn't have a detachable face, it had a handle that folded out and you could pull the whole stereo out of the dash. I used to bring it in and keep it in my locker in high school because I was that badass. Luckily I found a Pioneer open box special at some electronics store in Kansas for $200 off (Regular $500!) and had a real CD player later that year. Oh, 1999.

Actually, that Pioneer ended up being installed in about 20 different cars until I finally sold my BMW with it installed.

I blew a speaker in my shitty '89 Dodge Shadow. Being a thrifty SOB, I decided to throw a road gear 5-1/4" in to replace it so at least I wouldn't get the rattling. Know what? The blown speaker actually sounded better that the piece of shit Road Gear speaker I put in.

And that emissions testing is only in 7 or 8 counties. THAT is the real BS. (I lived right on the border of Lorain and Erie counties... Lorain had it, Erie didn't. Such shit).

And Michigan doesn't have any sort of inspection. My bf's one car is probably 8 kinds of illegal (but safe and roadworthy... just dark tint, no cats, super lowered), but yet MI couldn't care less.

That never made sense to me. My father in law, who lived in Wayne County and drove 90 min. to work didn't need the check, but I, who rode my bike to work, needed it because I live in Cuyahoga. Go fig. It should be the whole state.

No emissions test of any kind in Cincinnati !

Speaking of a lack of local inspections, I took this photo in my neighborhood WalMart's parking lot.

To be fair, it's got that 4.6 underbored Northstar V8. It's practically flying off the ground.

I also suppose he isn't aware he's putting a wing on a FWD car.

A few I've taken over the past couple years:

Ken Block's new, low buck ride.

The very elusive VW Golf GT-R. The hood scoop was held on with skull shaped fasteners.

And a Porsche Gemballa 944 GT-2. It had two rear spoilers, stacked on each other. Gemballa never made a 944. There was also never a GT-2 944. But it DID have this badging. And a whole shit ton of accessories installed in poor taste.
