From an atheist perspective, once you're dead, it's over. Either way, those put to death get off easy. If you're howling for vengeance, it seems life in prison is a far better punishment. That said, I don't think anyone can deny that the death penalty is unfairly applied to people of color and those who can't afford lawyers.

| And you can't deny that people of color commit and disproportional amount of crimes that can get the death penalty. And I have no issue with them getting absolution. It only works if they are truly sorry for their crimes and truly asking for forgiveness. That is between the inmate and God. It's up to us to arrange the meeting.
