Well...
They painted my bumper that got scratched when they first painted the car, and tried buffing again at their other location in Waukegan. Got it back and got accused of fucking the paint up myself with detail spray (bullshit, I'm scared to death to do any sort of detail work on this car right now). Looked fine when I drove away, and for the next few days I resisted doing any sort of washing or cleaning to the exterior. Just like last time, their clusterfuck workmanship showed up after the first good rain storm.
I appreciate that they were willing to keep trying but really,
really wish they didn't. Just a reminder that this door should not have even been touched in the first place...
...for some reason, the roofline over the DRIVER DOOR (nowhere near where the original damage was) also looks like this, and looks like they went down to metal. Trunk lid looks better, but both rear-quarter panels have these buffer scuffs as well.
I called my insurance agent directly, as I refuse to deal with this shop any further. He called around and I guess this stuff happens on a black car when they don't use a fresh out of the box buffer pad, and told me to expect a call from the body shop that night. They blew me off; I left a message for the agent, and got a call the next morning from the agent saying he had an "unhappy conversation" with the owner of the shop, and that I'm finally free to go wherever I please.
I just hope they didn't fuck it up so bad that things needs to be resprayed.
