just curious, got home, its dark, didnt have a chance to get the wheels off. my ranger brakes are groaning when i come to a gradual stop, the sound like when you have rusty rotors. pads have about 15000kms on them, quick look under the car rotors are miror shiney.

anyone have any ideas, seems to be worse when the brakes are hot. when the car is cold brakes nice and smooth.

Sounds like ONE of the sliders are stuck and your pads are hitting on a bit of an angle, or you have shitty aftermarket pads and one of the inboard ones has separated.

Does your ranger have those sliders that are just basically diamond shaped pieces of bent steel that you have to punch into place? I've seen them bind a few times.

well my mechanic was too busy, stoped at a snake muffler shop that had space in the garage, checked all 4 wheels and it came down to a pad with a particle since it sounds like metal on metal. all 4 wheels drums and calipers are free and moving. I trust this guy as he is such a crook that he will jump at any chance to make money... and he didnt charge a cent!
