A hint of sweat, a spray of colored hair
A curious slump of your delicate neck
I thought there was more in you

You lay there, offering again
An awkward spread of your lifeless legs
Where many men have had their way
Already numb to their trespasses

You lay there, melancholy again
A darkness seeping into your downturned eyes
To me you confessed your worthlessness
And to the world you proclaimed mine

You lay there, accusing again
A final statement of our enmity
Our trust and empathy forever lost
Killed by our own flaws
