hi all. my vuescan has always worked for years with my old scanner. but suddenly today every prescan or scan i do comes out completely black. i tried a demo of silverfast and those scans come in perfectly fine. go back to vue scan, black. restart the computer? black.

anybody ever encounter this or know whats going on here?? its pissing me off thanks!

If you ask Hamrick, his first response will probably be to reset to default settings and try again. Have you done that yet?

Is it possible that the film/film holder is touching the top half in of glass where the scanner does it's prescanning? Assuming this is a flatbed film scanner... Try scanning with the film/film holder more in the middle of the scanner than the tip top.

and thanks brian but its not a flatbed scanner. its the other kind, where the film feeds into it, and because its early the correct name escapes me. lol. sorry.

i dont suppose anybody knows where i could find a copy of crack for silverfast? probably not, but i thought it was worth asking. money is tight this month, and im lost without demonoid these days.
