I just went there last fall with a friend. I loved Hidden Rapids to death...until my tube overturned near one of the pools going down to the final runoff area, and my back got quite badly scratched from loose concrete on the bottom. It's good to see that it hasn't been smashed to bits by vandals, and good to know that it's reopening. I wondered if those slides were formerly in the park; I didn't know that they were from Surf Cincinnati.

Posted by CaptOrbit So it will be open again next year?
Apparently so.
It would have really been a waste if they had closed it for good. It's only a matter of time until the skaters start taking over, Surf Cincinnati-style.
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

Time for a 10-year-old Beach update.
For any explorers who may have noticed the lack of activity while zipping by on 71, it has been closed for a hot minute now but is not abandoned. There is still a skeleton crew on site, the power (and water!) is still on, and either Mason or Kings Mills PD are actively keeping an eye on the site. Word is that they are arresting trespassers on sight due to a spike in the number of prying eyes recently.
That said, if it does officially shut down for good, I'd love to take a gander one last time.
