So I had an old lady come in to my shop today and after talking about my appreciation for old cars she says she has a corvair at home that needs some tlc with 20,000 miles on it she wants to give to me! Score! I'm going to try and swing by tomarrow to check it out, even if it's a pos what the hell it's free ! All I got is that it's got 20k, it's a sedan and it's got a telescoping wheel and a tissue dispenser.

Sweet! My favorite domestic car.

Mostly because it's heavily based on VW and Porsche technology, Porsche designed most of the engine, then GM personalized it and, uhh, well... Yeah.

A Corvair is one of the very few domestics I would own...

Join the grassrootsmotorsports.com forum and pester everyone there about them. Enough people there have stockpiles of 'vair parts, and they usually aren't proud of their prices.

I like 'vairs, but I don't think I'd ever own one. Not quite cool enough to sit in my driveway, but certainly cool enough to drool over a nice one.

Damn! Talk about style. Like Bandi, I am an air-cooled fiend, but there's more to the Corvair than just that. They have style too! Neko.

Once this snows gone I'm going to check it out, I always liked them and almost bought two when I was 15 but I had too many other cars at the time.

i looked at one back in 93. it was a 66 Corvair Monza coupe... the only problem was that the body was pretty rotten and it was not worth what the guy wanted for it.
There are two up the road from me, but the guy will not sell them... they just sit there...

I came pretty close to buying a yellow Monza coupe last summer. Sadly, it was out of my reach price-wise, and even worse: it was an automatic. I walked away happily empty handed after I saw the shift lever!

Nice! I nearly bought a white sedan just to use as a daily driver last summer, but didn't quite have the money.

Durdan, do you talk to your cars and ask them what they want to be when they grow up? I now have a new favorite 'vair, and your XJ looks pretty sweet, too.
