No true artiste is ever appreciated in his or her lifetime; appeal to one's contemporaries is a sure sign that one's work has become trite and worthless. As such, stuck-up pigs be damned, I'm entering the art show, and if I don't win, it merely reinforces the artistic validity of my life's work.

Spent the day playing with some new software, including an app called "iftop", which graphically displays the traffic on a computer's interface in real-time. It's like MRTG, only more so. Very cool. I could sit for hours watching it. Well, OK, I did sit for hours watching it, but my back hurts and I had a cat sleeping on my lap I didn't want to disturb.
