the dyno we had at the shop was for a motorcycle and the drum was a few hundred pounds of rotation black horsepower rating majik. we never launched a bike off of it, but i bet that would have been fun to watch... from far away...

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

I always see these dyno fails, it seems it's always some rich shit wanting to show off at the traveling dyno circus. Go to a real dyno to find out what your car puts out........

One of the hams I trade equipment is in Fermont, QC. He works at this car dealer in town and while his customers work at the mine nearby and own yrucks and jeeps, there's what he calls the local car enthusiasts who keep asking him to put in a dyno. He hasn't told me what cars these guys own exactly but describe them as "cars not worth trying out on any dyno"

yeah this is very legit.

that's a Land & Sea dyno. it uses two rollers connected with a large rubber belt on one end. i fucking hate these dynos. they're all garbage.

BUT, at the other end of the rollers (the part that exploded) is a giant armature that provides the dyno brakes as well as load bearing. they commonly fail.

the software is overly complex for what it is, and if you have the wrong setting turned on, if you reduce the throttle at all after a certain point, the computer thinks you're done with the run and will switch on the brakes.

ask me how i know.
