Hey, I'm new to this board, but I'd like to ask all of you if you know where I can find some good chill out music. I'm looking for something like Enya, or more of a trance thing. What are your suggestions?

It's kind of funny that you mention chill music. My friends have made three whole mix tapes using the idea of "chill" as a central organizing point (though not in exactly the same way as you are thinking of it, I don't imagine). I'll see if I can dig up any of the playlists from those tapes...

Okay, I found one of those chill mixes I mentioned. Here's the lineup --

Side A:

Don't Panic - Coldplay
Lips of Ashes - Porcupine Tree
Like a Stone - Audioslave
Runaway - Marillion
Us and Them - Pink Floyd
The Great Gig in the Sky - Pink Floyd
Tea in the Sahara - Police
Bridge Across Forever - Transatlantic

Side B:

Sleepwalk - Joe Satriani and Robert Fripp
Driver Under - Seether
Round and Round - Neil Young
Talk Show Host - Radiohead
Pink Moon - Nick Drake
Blood In My Eyes - Bob Dylan
Wish You Were Here - Radiohead
Broken Wings - Mr. Mister
Summer Breeze - Seals and Croft
Untitled - Silverchair
[Hidden Track]

What do you think? It's a little less chill than the other mix tapes in the series, but it's good nonetheless.

My chill music playlist consists almost entire of Frou Frou, who I dicovered after checking out the "Garden State" soundtrack. Check out the track "Let Go" as a good example of their type of music.

i agree. the album "man with a movie camera" is fan-fucking-tastic.

some other great names in ambient/chillout music:
boards of canada
displacer
aphex twin (selected ambient works vol i / ii are definitive in this genre)
deceptikon
sigur ros
portishead
massive attack...

i could go on, but check these guys out, check out remixes by them and of them and it will lead to other great music as well

So I said "Why don't you shove it where the sun don't shine" and so he did. He put it in the cupboard under the stairs and it hasn't been mentioned since.

Lotus is pretty awesome, I was looking for LTJ Bukem with no luck on WinMX. I also downloaded a phat beat from the Chemical Brothers called "Galaxy Bounce"
