Had the same 75 242DL since 1984. Big inside, sporty 2 door, rugged and dependable, just a smooth ass ride. Did a frame up last year and went to the Volvo 6 I've had around for awhile and the overdrive tranny out of an 87. I do love that damn car with all my heart.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

How is this even 'exploration'? It's a loving house you've already been in you weirdo!

Best car I ever had is my 1994 Chevy Cavalier with the 3.1L V6. I keep it in the garage, and it is in mint brand new condition. Has A/C, CD, Power Windows, and I love the thing. I upgraded the lights to all LED lighting, and I added Magnaflow performance exhaust from the engine all the way through. As well I also added a K&N cold air intake, and use only full synthetic fluids all away around. I only pull it out when the weather is nice. I will never sell it. I will keep it forever. Never once had any issues with it.

am i the only one that seems to have good luck with GM cars?

Nope! I`ve always been lucky with GM cars. Especially Chevs. Guess they like me. Had three Buicks (one got written off when I hit a deer) but the other two lasted for a long time. The only issue with them was the starter motors.
Had two Fords. The first one was used and abused so I can`t complain about it. The other one was brand new and it was the worst vehicle I`ve ever owned. Old Henry probably didn't like me.

What I had over the years.
1976 Nova
1979 Zephyr station wagon
1989 Tempo (worst one)
1990 S15 Pick up
1997 Jimmy (written off in accident)
1990 Buick Regal
2000 Buick LeSabre (Deer wrote it off)
2001 Cavalier - Current vehicle. Just passed E-test but it`s on its last legs.

I had a 242GT. I loved that car so ridiculously much.

I'm looking at my 4th 700 series once I get my shit together. Or a 900 series with a I6.. those are smooth as hell.

I admire the 242 for all its glory, but for the life of me I could never own one.. everything about that car is HUGE. Dash is huge, wheel is huge, headlights ('86+) gigantic, seats = sofas.

Not like the 7 or 9 is any less of a pig, but they're better looking pigs to me!

Speaking of pigs, the new Impala is a design execution failboat. What were they thinking with that front end assembly? Unless you get a black car you can see every awkward seam. Hugely disappointed since the inside is Cadillac status.
