New car ?

Hey guys !

I'm thinking about getting a new car. I had my eyes on a 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5S which goes for about 13/14k.

Main usage is the home/work commute (about 30 minutes of highway). But I need a reliable car that won't get me stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Any opinion on this car ?

so did my Cavaliers.
if you don't really like cars and just want something that you don't ever have to open the hood on, buy a Toyota. They're like a toaster, and about as much fun... they sit in the garage and serve when they're needed and then put away and forgotten.

Exactly. Which is perfect. People who buy them new take em in for maint and follow the schedule. They use the right parts and always replace the tires an axle at a time. You are not getting driving excitement but are getting a good car for commuting. Also I drive the shit out of my wife's 12 Camry when she isn't looking. It's kinda fun

In not a big fan of them, that weird cvt transmission, and at least here a lot of "minoritys" drive them and tend to not take the greatest care of them. Just my opinion (not trying to sound too racist)

As much as i hate any car that had to take a boat to get here all the seniors in my neighbors that are 65 and over seam to drive altimas, and they see to last bloodywell forever. If it was my id say look at any Ecotec powered GM or even one of the last 3800 powered GMs, you can practically run Kerosene in them lol

I've never had any problems with Honda. My first car was a 95 Civic CX had 270k miles on it when the engine blew, actually the oil pump quit and as a result ended up frying the engine - due to me not pulling over when the temp gauge began to climb. Knocked a baseball sized hole out of the block hahaha. Replaced the engine and drove it another 20k miles then some punk stole it and stripped my interior

After that I bought a 2000 Honda Civic with 48k miles on it still driving it with 92k miles right now - never any problems - aside from the paint fading.

If I buy another car most likely going to get another Civic or something that gets better gas millage that a Honda like a VW Golf TDI
