I found UER after watching some Youtube videos on urbex (having done a few explores by myself first), by looking for new locations and being directed to the database.

I do appreciate the database, with what little is available to the public. The information there has given me some good practice in looking for other locations near me.

Moved to Detroit, wondered if off radar tours existed or something along the like. Found some, didn't want to pay $75/hr. Figured I research UE on my own and invite some new friends.

I heard about it in a facebook group for abandoned places. So I googled "Urban exploring forum."

Moved to MA and a colleague was moving to a different state. Before he left I asked for UE recommendations since I was new to the area - pointed me here.
Despite signing up 2 years ago, just getting into the uer website recently.

I literally ate slept and breathed S.T.A.L.K.E.R and eventually found myself wanting to explore Pripyat illegally, then toned down a bit and found a UR channel on Youtube, then I wanted to try it. Chernobyl will still be my greatest quest, and I'll be damned if I back down

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is an amazing game and stuff like that and fallout is probably what influenced my tendency to like abandoned buildings.

I love finding cool views, and just sitting and looking out for sometimes hours ( Referring more to my hiking days, haven't done it in UR since I'm new to it)

A friend I went in a building with asked if I was on UER and I didn't know what that was and so I looked for it on google, but didn't bother registering till I got a group of my friends into Urbex and wanted to get more involved with the community at large.

I was informed by a long time UER member.

I actually found UER just recently!

I was looking for information about how to find new places to explore, as here in San Diego there aren't many abandoned areas that aren't being renovated. I stumbled across this forum and information about Cave Clan and learned how exciting draining can be when done right. So I decided to join to learn more to keep myself safe but also to represent San Diego and hopefully add to my local UE/Draining scene.

Always got out and explored to find new places in my area. Wanted to expand my horizons so started looking online. This was one of the first websites I came across and thought the community was cool so I registered.

I googled urban exploration and urbex and uer.ca was within the first page of choices, I found forums and photo shots at uer...

kinda like I came across bikepacking and found a good community too

I googled "how to make myself suffer" and it came up right beside marketing body wraps on Facebook.

My boyfriend actually told me about this website. When he did, and I started looking through it, I could not stop freaking out and squealing with delight because I wondered if there was such a place on the internet as this. I feverishly signed up since my goal now is to one day become a Full Member, and to hopefully meet up with fellow urban explorers/UER members alike. I'm so delighted to be a part of the community now!

I think the entire Fallout series furthered my love for abandoned buildings as well, beautiful game!
