whoever built that car had a nasty sense of humor i applaud because to me, the Citroen 2CV is everything a car shouldn't be. ;)

Being a car guy, if you ever drove one, you'd change your opinion. Yeah- it's an absolute joke of a car. But when you get behind the wheel of one, and drive it, it suddenly becomes a wonderful little novelty that makes you smile.

I dunno... I have never enjoyed driving a car quite as much as a 2CV, and I've driven some pretty interesting shit.

that Pinto is a base model Pinto (you can tell by the seats, steering wheel and trunk mat). Still, $950 is a steal. You can have those cars running in 20 minutes with a pair of vise-grips and a cheap chinese socket set.

Hence the "maybe" tagged on with the Pinto ad.

Sure it's a nifty little '70s compact wagon in okay shape for cheap...but it's a Pinto.

Sorry, but unless you have ever owned one or loved one, you have no opinion. I owned a 1978 Mercury Bobcat and a 1980 Ford Pinto and the Pinto was one of the best cars I've ever owned. As for the exploding Pinto nonsense, that was pre-1976 models.

Awwwww! My late father-in-law had a Pinto, then later a Bobcat, both of which he loved.

i was supposed to take the Bobcat to college with me as my mom's exboyfriend gave it to my father for work he did. We got the car in the garage and it was just too rotten to even fix. Luckily, not two weeks after the terminal diagnosis of the Bobcat, a friend of mine found a 1980 Ford Pinto for sale just up the road for the kingly sum of $300. It had a blown C4 automatic which was ok, because the Bobcat had a recently rebuilt C3 automatic. Paid for the car, drove it home and ended driving the car from Port Henry NY to Kingston NY (about a 3hr drive down the NY Thruway) for a year. Eventually, I blew the automatic up and converted the car to a manual shift and found a rear axle out of a Pinto wagon that had the coveted 3.40:1 final drive. I loved that damn Pinto.

The duct tape holding on three of the windows, including the windshield, s disconcerting.

The duct tape used for decoration on various parts of the interior is also disconcerting.

I think if it was never sold in the US it has to be 25 years old.

there are ways around that.
I live close to the border and many cars from Oh Canada end up here.
